When President Donald Trump first raised the prospect of war with Iran, some of the most serious reservations came from his second in command.

 
A former Marine who rose to political prominence as a critic of foreign wars, Vice President JD Vance counseled against the perils of launching another unpredictable conflict in the Middle East.

 
But as it became apparent that Trump still favored military action, Vance shifted his stance. He advocated for Trump to attack quickly and decisively, arguing it would be necessary to minimize American casualties and prevent Iran from striking first.


In addition to Vance, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine laid out the potential negative repercussions of striking Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, already occupied with managing the aftermath of January’s raid on Venezuela, offered only tepid support at the outset. And chief of staff Susie Wiles had spent recent months more focused on political matters, plotting a midterm push focused on domestic priorities she worried had been overshadowed by Trump’s foreign policy forays.

That's because you hate Israel and falsely think Gaza is a war crime.

Why is the idea of self defense so hard to grasp when Israel steals its land, rapes its prisoners and leaves the bodies of many unaccounted in the car park? Do you really think building a house on a grave site is a good idea? Suppose a Satanist would like that.

Some reports that China is helping Iran with surveillance.

 

With the way Iran is responding, they are taking a more lawful approach.

Why is the idea of self defense so hard to grasp

What Iran is doing to Israel isn't self defense.
Israel is a sovereign nation with a right to exist,
and what it is doing IS self defense.   It isn't stealing
land nor raping prisoners.   That's Hamas and the
so called 'palestinians' that you are  thinking of.   
Every so often Israel screw up.  Everyone does.  
But it's not procedure for them.

And oil is now $115 a barrel.

Tehran news stating that the new 'Supreme Leader', the ayatollahs son, is 'wounded by the enemy'.  It is unclear if it's a new wounding or an old wound.  The guy hasn't been seen since the bombing started, and his wife and father were killed in the opening bombings.

They have also named this war the 'Ramadan War'.   They have to keep it religious ... it's their schtick.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son has been wounded in the Iran war, it emerged today after he was named as the country's new Supreme Leader.


In one report on his ascension to Supreme Leader on Iranian state TV, it refers to him as being wounded in the war.

 The anchor describes him as 'janbaz', or wounded by the enemy, in the 'Ramadan war,' which is how media in Iran refer to the current conflict.

 
It does not elaborate on how he was injured, although his wife and father were killed in Israeli strikes on Tehran.

 
An analyst on air later suggested Khamenei's wounding could have been during his service in the 1980s Iran-Iraq war, although the differing accounts could not be immediately reconciled.
