People might wonder how Iran's "forces" can defeat The U.S. Navy on patrol 

How can Iran stop the blockades?     They must be real strong

Trump et al are negotiating, so we are told, with the current regime, whatever that is exactly.
Having read some of the previous posts, it would appear that there is a division between the current Iranian "government" and the IRGC.
The IRGC have claimed they have control of the Straits. 
So, is the Iranian Government saying "open" and the IRGC saying "closed"?

How would I know? I never made that claim, and neither does the article I quoted.

Iran was able to stop traffic through the strait.
