The main focus is on modernization and security of emerging technologies 

"We will modernize our information systems so that old infrastructure does not choke 
innovation."

Everything has to be upgraded because advanced technology will move at the speed of light

The old system can't support that

The transition to digital won't be any different than when we switched from landline to cell or from dial up to fios

Coincidently, critical undersea fiber-optic cables run through the Strait of Hormuz

Trump was raised presbyterian but switched to non-denominational Christian.
In practice I don't think he's any form of Christian.  He himself has said many
times that he doesn't think he's getting into heaven.   He just does the optics
of Christianity to get votes/keep high polls with a certain segment of the 
population.   And anyone around him who is what I'd call extreme ... like 
Mike Huckabee .. only has just so much influence since Trump doesn't let anyone
tell him what to do.

I don’t think Trump is religious… But there are many in his orbit who are. There are also a lot of donors who are, some with very implicit bias to that region.

When I say the aims are religious, I don’t mean for Trump, but rather the reason why America as a whole continues to partner with Israel.

I’m open to reasons why they’re such a good ally for us, meaning, what do they bring to the table for America? Trade isn’t even a big factor in that.

If you look at our relationship with them, they’re a pure liability. I don’t mean that in a rude way, just an honest take.

It is about the forever war, Ancient Greece v Persia, the Crusades, few other back and forth, now the descendants in Eurasia returning to the homeland. Hope you are right with God in fighting for that place.

Trump Furious At Israel

Donald Trump is furious after Israel targeted Iran's oil depots in a blitz that shocked the White House amid soaring oil prices.

 
A planned summit between the US and Israel was scrapped on Monday in the first open disagreement between the allies since the war broke out.

 
Thirty Iranian fuel depots were obliterated over the weekend with apocalyptic images showing fires leaping into the sky, huge columns of smoke, and black oily rain falling from the sky.

 
White House officials were stunned by the scale of Israel's bombardment and concerned that images of burning oil would anger Americans facing increased gas prices - up to $3.4 per gallon on average compared to $2.9 before the war started. 

 
'The president doesn't like the attack. He wants to save the oil. He doesn't want to burn it. And it reminds people of higher gas prices,' a Trump adviser said to Axios. 

 
An Israeli official said the message from the US was stark: 'What the f***'.

Even Lindsey Graham had a critical statement towards Israel (as critical as a Lindsey Graham could be to his constituents):

Our allies in Israel have shown amazing capability when it comes to collapsing the murderous regime in Iran. America is most appreciative.

However, there will be a day soon that the Iranian people will be in charge of their own fate, not the murderous ayatollah’s regime. 

In that regard, please be cautious about what targets you select. Our goal is to liberate the Iranian people in a fashion that does not cripple their chance to start a new and better life when this regime collapses. The oil economy of Iran will be essential to that endeavor.

I was in the Army.    Even though I was stationed in  Japan, we got put on alert when USA went and bombed Libya.  I dare say that the entire US military is on alert because of this operation.   Including the 82 Airborne.    I don't know if there is anything special about them being on alert ... as in a special operation coming.   They already must be on alert.
