The gods have assumed control, how will we fuck them up?

I think the thread is simply dead because there is no one to trust on what is happening. MSM has been wrong about a lot of the reporting, as usual. Iran doesn't even have free press, so anything that comes out of there is the governments narrative... And Trump has been all over the place. We're all just along for the ride. Even though Congress and Senate voted that the war that was never declared should end, executive hasn't cared about the constitution for decades. Presidents will do what they want, and their supporters will stand by them because "the other guy did it", or there's some law they believe supersedes the greatest law of the land, the Constitution. Truth be told, all of the government is in on it. They serve the donor class, not the voting class. And they will make their money of their decisions as they always have. We'll see every election going forward talk about reducing war, debt, inflation, and corruption while they all do more of every single one of those items.

Too many negative emotions here to get a read beyond that shit.

You and your Zionist chum lost. There were a few others on your side of the ‘debate’ earlier, but they cut and ran hundreds and hundreds of pages ago. At least the two of you stayed the course: well done. By the way, how do you like your new reinforcement from (allegedly) the British Isles? I quite like his style, actually. He doesn’t just say the quiet part out loud, as you and Mini-Bibi do, he yells it from the rooftops. By exaggerating your position to the point of absurdity, he has made the pro-war faction (you) look utterly ridiculous. Anyway, it’s no good making excuses for yourself now. Every unsporting loser insists he was cheated. Tut tut. Quote:Any posts against that narrative get removed. If you put more substance in your posts and less foul language, they might not have been removed. The tragedy of it is that, even now that the moral blindness and folly of your position has been rubbed in your face, you have not the slightest inkling of where you went wrong. Still blaming the Dems and the Libs. Just like Trump himself, eh?

Again and again on this site, one is forced to realise that one is arguing with folk whose entire knowledge and understanding of the world are filtered through the US consumer media. If you’re so dissatisfied with what you get from Big Brother, why don’t your look beyond him? There are plenty of sources, even in the USA, that you could turn to instead; you’ll have to pay (quality journalism costs money) but they exist. And if you’re looking for free but reliable sources, there’s a wealth of them in the world beyond: in the UK, in Europe (most of the big European newspapers, TV channels, etc, have English translations of their content available on their web sites), in Canada and the rest of the English-speaking world. The quality Indian media in particular are very good, if you can put up with the avalanche of pop-up ads, bugs and bots. Also, it helps to distinguish better between opinions and facts. Many sites are partisan, yet still reliable when it comes to the facts they report. One is Al-Jazeera, which people here like to call pro-Iran; It is, in fact, a reliable news source and has often been the first to report the facts in the current conflict. Another relable Middle Eastern news outlet is Haaretz. At any rate, I feel quite well supplied with information on this conflict, and always have. The ‘fog of war’ appears to be largely US-government-generated, with all the contradictory messaging, daily changes of position and objective, deliberate obfuscation (we still don’t know what really happened to that F-15) and general blundering incompetence. The way to get the correct picture is to ignore both the Iranians on one side and the Americans and Israelis on the other. Not that difficult to do – once you learn to look beyond the shores of your own country.

Therefore, if someone hates Trump you think that they also hate America. You need to seriously consider how stupid that idea is. No single human being can represent the complexity that is a large, modern nation-state like the US. Some can do better than others, but everyone is going to fall short in some way or another. Trump falls short much more than most other Presidents. That's why his approval rating now hovers around 30%. Eisenhower had an approval rating that was almost the inverse of Trump's, at near 70%. So did John F. Kennedy, which should give you a clue that it's not about political party, it's about personal character. Trump clearly doesn't have any. People hate Trump because he's manifestly a piece of shit. It's as simple as that. |
