Most of my coworkers agree we need to pay less taxes and fund less federal crap.

Yep .... most of America is actually Libertarian these days ... but they just are so busy cheerleading for their (D) or ® that they don't realize that they've crossed over to Libertarian in what they want.

We are over taxed and a whole lot of it is going to waste, fraud and abuse.   

The cuts .. so far .. are spectacular.  Excellent.  Over due.  

But Trump haters are so intoxicated with the hate that they refuse to acknowledge that our tax money should be going to help hungry American children or to help homeless elderly Americans, rather than pay billions in waste and government bloat.

It's obviously hyperbole , but yes, it was to illustrate that the average European we speak with, is somewhat like yourself in that they are rabidly anti Trump, no matter what he does, to the point of believing everything the boob tube says, as long as it's negative about the current state of America, regardless of if it's all a pack of lies.   I only have a friend in Ireland who seems to have his head screwed on straight in regards to not being absurdly bias.  We are not ultra pro Trump and didn't vote for him,  but we also aren't rabidly screaming against him either

We got a text from my husbands cousin in France.  All upset wondering what would happen to the Ukraine if Trump stopped paying for the war there.  (that's Europe .. always with their hand in Americas wallet trying to get our money).   My response was 'how about YOU pay for it forever then since it's YOUR backyard' ... but my husband didn't text that back.  He was more diplomatic.

I don't think it's dementia.   I think it's out of control ego, clinical narcissism, entitlement, basic ass-holery (yes I made that word up but it fits)  ... a few other things.

Trump doesn't have short term memory loss, loss of words, he multitasks just fine, no withdrawl from social situations (he CRAVES the social situations and spotlight), obviously no depression or confusion.  He's missing a lot of the key warning signs of dementia.  So IMHO  no dementia.  What you see is 'all him'.   (but I'm not a doctor and I don't have access to him on a daily basis so I could be wrong)

I'm not a doctor either but his personality seem to have got worse, and all this stuff about annexing Canada and invading Greenland is plain insane.

But, maybe he is just saying what he likes because he gets away with it and noone is able to take him to task?

I saw that approval rating on TV.

He was getting a 71% approval rating for certain things, not his presidency as a whole.

Trump bloviates.  He is a New York business man and they always self promote.
So he bloviated that it was an approval rating poll, instead of the approval rating for 
the topic that the poll was about.  Can't remember the topics they polled ... I think they were
for the cuts being made by DOGE and the handling of Ukraine, stuff like that.  Separate 
topics .. not an overall approval rating.

I think the Canada stuff was him trolling that weenie Trudeau.  Weak wuss of a man.  Prancing around calling himself a feminist.  YUK.  Easy prey for Trump.  I don't take the trolling of Trudeau seriously.   I'd love for the land of Canada to be American, but there are far too many far left weenies like Trudeau who live there and I don't want them as part of my country.  They don't seem to have a far right problem though.  Those folks are all in the USA in Alabama etc etc.

Greenland ... I take that more seriously.  The people of Greenland are open to it.  Denmark is not.  If it were voted on by the people of Greenland, it could pass.  I doubt Denmark could stop it if the people who live there wanted it.   But I don't see this happening either.

wow is literally impossible for this thread to stay on topic even when there is perfectly cromulant neurosis thread active too. not criticizing anyone here but it is interesting trump phenomena he is like tarbaby sticky disagreement and controversy anything he's involved in. impossible to make narrow! has inescapable reality vortex around everything he's involved in. maybe a post-truth thing? two different factsets, no facts anymore. weird.
