Trump is in talks with Russia to end the war

Are you really going there?

Did Putin care about his citizen's children lives?

Did Putin allow political rivals to challenge him?

What other leaders' and their children, in other countries around the world, have served their country in the military. I can only think of the U.K. royal family so far.

They did not start the war. They do not want the war. They want to survive.

They also wanted to trade freely with their fairly abundant resources, and not be under the control of a foreign nation.

But then the fire nation attacked...

Well it's kinda hard to compare 2014 to 2022.

In 2014 Russia invaded an area of Crimea that was majority Russian Sepratist. it wasn't Russia vs. Ukraine so much as Russia supporting Ukrainian Separatists vs. Ukraine. Obama was prudent to stay the hell out of it. It was more of a civil war.

This was a full-scale invasion of a sovereign nation to the capital for invented propaganda reasons. The Banderas and such going for "Most Ironic Invasion Ever." Their own 90% inoperable Shock and Awe. Totally different scenario.

And while now it's fallen into territory with allegiance closer to Crimea, it's still a different situation. The world had reason the second time that wasn't available the first time, and America was still part of the world then.

They may want that, but they also want that foreign nation to pay for an unending war and to pay for keeping their economy floating.    They want a pile of free money, while at the same time wanting to trade freely the resources that our hundreds of billions keeps free for them.

Doesn't work that way.

Can't have both.

They'd have NO resources if it weren't for our 100 billion, and hundreds of billions more in the future.

Therefore .... they deal with us with the resources, or we stop handing them our hundreds of billions while getting nothing in exchange.

Exactly

There might be a lot of faux international posturing going on, imagine if Europe had committed to this level before. Would we even be here?

Here's an interesting comment from X.com let's see what happens in Riyadh next week. Saudis could be involved in some form perhaps a lucrative deal for Russian raw materials, anything to grease the wheels of negotiations.

@StoopidLiberals

Hear me out. I believe President Trump has deliberately provoked Europe, pushing them to take a more active role in defending Ukraine. His nonchalant approach to funding has ignited a surge of testosterone among European male leaders, a trait not typically seen in abundance on the continent. With Europe applying pressure and Zelensky’s prideful unwillingness to compromise, the conditions are now perfectly aligned for President Trump to broker a deal. And what a remarkable deal it will be.

It wasn't that her children weren't being sent, it was how she laughingly shrugged it off.

I thought Putin was different we all know he is particularly slimy.

All leaders are different but considering she represents 500 million Europeans it seemed rather flippant.

As for the back and forth here we arent changing each other's minds here and even if we did it wouldn't change what will or wont happen in the real world.

These things take time...
