Trump has moved two nuclear submarines towards Russia

Quote:Donald Trump has moved two nuclear submarines towards Russia after a war of words with the Kremlin...

The US president said he had moved the nuclear weapons in response to threats from Dmitry Medvedev, the former Russian president.
“I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that,” Mr Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
“Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

“If some words from the former president of Russia trigger such a nervous reaction from the high-and-mighty president of the United States, then Russia is doing everything right and will continue to proceed along its own path,” he said in a post on Telegram.

It looks like things have taken a little more of a serious turn with America's stance on Russia.
I thought Nuclear Submarine operations and movements were kept secret, obviously Donald wanted to let Putin and Medvedev know that he's taking Medvadevs insults very serious, and isn't happy with the progress on the peace talks so far.

Why take a former Russian President's rhetoric seriously? Isn't Putin's rhetoric the most important to heed?

I guess this may something, or nothing (posturing).

I wonder if Putin's nuclear subs are operational after that earthquake?

I do think it's more about posturing and being seen as 'serious' about his recent comments concerning Russia (my cynical side, to possibly change the headlines)

Putin seems to have dismissed Donald's recent comments about peace talks and warnings about '10 to 12 days', and is making no efforts to come to the negotiating table. Up against a more serious adversary Putin really only has nukes, as his military has taken a beating in Ukraine.

His Navy is in a real mess, I imagine his subs' are operational but I wouldn't like to see them pushed.

Was there not a Russian sub that surfaced in front of a French trawler in the English channel a few months ago???

One was spotted crusing up the Irish sea as well if I remember right

Man, Trump will do ANYTHING to distract from Epstein Lol
In all seriosness though, why react to saber rattling now? Possible that responding with subs will not deter and instead embolden Russia. We had a chance to bring the fighting in Ukraine down a notch, but then temorarily halted arms shipments which I think sent Putin a message that the US didn't want to be involved anymore. So he ramped up the attacks. Now it seems he doesn't want to back down to Trump. We shall see what happens next. Could escalate quickly into......who knows

Russian submarines and escorts have have been spotted transitioning the English Channel many times..
Quote: HMS Tyne has tracked the Russian submarine RFS Krasnodar and the corvette RFS Boikiy during two separate transits through the English Channel.
The Kilo-class SSK was intercepted near the French coast as it travelled eastward on the surface, returning to Russia from the eastern Mediterranean. HMS Tyne monitored its progress through UK waters before handing over to allied units. The submarine was also previously observed by a Wildcat helicopter from 815 Naval Air Squadron, embarked with the UK Carrier Strike Group operating in the Atlantic.
