Any war or conflict in the Arctic would immediately involve all NATO countries, so I think it is well covered without the U.S. having to 'safeguard' it all up there - but that's not the real reason he wants Greenland and Canada.

Like he thinks he can broker a takeover of Danish territory. Panama, the canal, we could probably buy out, but Danish are so prideful and nationalistic themselves, that they'd put up every road block to keep their resources untapped and out of US control.

In negotiations, always start high or low at the beginning (depending on whether buying or selling something). It’s called posturing. It enables you to see how far your opposition will go. Many times, I’m pleasantly surprised that the people were willing to agree to such a low price, on my low-ball offer. It’s all about realizing who has the ‘hammer’ which is the person with the power. Different circumstances predicate this. At the moment, Trump has the Hammer. Using military force on a NATO country, could potentially change that. That’s why I know he’s trolling. He is a raging narcissist, but not an idiot.

Yes, Biden forboden a large area (as Trump says "as big as an ocean") but Trump said he'll reverse that on Day 1, so that's not it.

I thought it was the debt that he needs to deal with hence his drill-drill-drill shtick, but he said he will remove the debt ceiling so that can't be it either, unless he knows he can't pay off the debt and/or reduce inflation/food prices etc. within four years. So, yeah, he will need to drill-drill-drill in Canada and Greenland and offshore everywhere he can to make a quick impact for which the American people mandated him into that position. He needs money for the coffers and lots of it. Make sense?

There won't be a WW3 at least not the WW3 we all think it will be in the Arctic, because IMO it will be modern warfare on water and/or from space. If you notice how Russia and North Korea do warfare, they are 70 years behind the times. China may be a different thing but who knows if their warfare is modern or not, perhaps cyber is their new modern warfare.

I read an article once as to why China does not invade Taiwan and basically it was because warfare on water would be extremely difficult for China, being the aggressor. Sitting ducks?

I know one thing, Ukraine embraces modern technological warfare and what with all their experience, we all need them to be part of NATO.
