Presidents and political officials are allowed to purchase with their own money gifts at their face value.
Many US Presidents and their spouses receive gifts from political leaders and others. The sitting POTUS is allowed to purchase these gifts with their own money if they want. Most gifts are not purchased and are donated to the White House or other locations so that the gifted is not personally enriched. Check out all the things given to Biden and Jill and other presidents and what was done with them.
There is only ONE cell phone made in the US and it isn't from the Trump organization. All others are made outside of the USA. The Trump Organization's cell phone company is actually dropping the 'made in the USA' because it is only assembled in the US with parts manufactured elsewhere. Hopefully, that will change with all the manufacturing growth being pushed now. Regardless, Trump can buy any cell phone he wants.
I couldn't care less if Trump wears a baseball cap. He doesn't wear it all the time. I think it's part of his appeal to middle and lower-class working people. Maybe he feels it makes him more relatable. I've heard wearing baseball caps contributes to baldness although I don't know if it's true or not. Maybe balding men wear baseball caps to hide their thinning hair. Regardless, I'm surprised Trump wears a baseball cap at all because he doesn't like his hair messed with. Meh, whatever rocks his boat.
Trump's family were business people before he was POTUS. Every person in business related to a sitting POTUS has made a more money because of their relationship to the president. EVERY ONE OF THEM. It's too bad Trump and his family were so successful. And it's even worse that they are more successful because their name is Trump.
It is fact that Trump has received gifts that weren't properly reported. I don't know if that situation is fully resolved. There was reporting but not the 'proper' reporting and it's quite a large amount total value. Some of the items have been purchased by the Trump family members and I believe 're-reporting' has been accomplished to meet the requirement but I'm not completely sure about this. As well, this was all reported in 2023 regarding Trumps first presidency. Why he was able to continue to run with this hanging over his head is beyond me. I'm not sure of how serious an issue it is since Biden also had the Ukraine issue and it didn't seem to stop his presidency like many thought it would.
