It's interesting to note that unlike the House meeting, the Senate subcommittee members have much greater security clearance and are read into many more areas. Hence the closed door meeting, which in their best case would go something like: "So what's up AARO? Nothing? Cool.", followed by positioning themselves for whatever public posturing must be done.
It's telling the order of the meetings: closed-door first, then a public on-the-record. One might naively think it should be the opposite.
Who knows. I'm only speculating.
