Israel and Hamas peace deal
#11
The peace deal seems to be already under strain and facing multiple reported violations.

Israel accuses Hamas of withholding hostage remains, and Hamas reports Israeli strikes killing dozens.

The Rafah crossing remains closed, worsening tensions.

I certainly hope the deal holds but i would not hold my breath.

.... and don't forget Hamas staying armed and mass murdering so called 'palestinians' who they think colluded with Israel ... with thousands of other so called palestinians watching and cheering the murders.    All of them ... uncivilized and untrustworthy.

I don't think any of them are likely to forget, but that's on both sides.

And hence my ambivalence to believe the peace deal will hold.

The problem is that they have been murdering and slaughtering one another for quite some time.

And that kind of blood and hatred does not wash off or away.

Simply because Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize.

I do however, hope im completely wrong on that score and that the peace continues to hold and becomes the norm.

That's the first thing I said here when the peace deal came through .... I'm glad the hostages are finally released but we are dealing with a mentality that won't allow for peace.  Nothing has changed with the 'palestinians'.   They still call for the genocide of the Jews and they still falsely say that Israel is theirs and they are going to take it.

Nothing has changed except the hostages are released.

And the part of the peace deal that says Gaza will be rebuilt by nations investing in it ... that's insane.

Got to at least call that part a win of sorts.

At least for the lucky few who've made it back alive.

Tell you one thing, i would not invest in the place.

Given its current condition.

Because it's little more than a hole in the fecking ground.

One big smoking pile of rubble.

Sprinkled with the odd unexploded ordnance and parts of dead bodies.

Hardly what one would call an ""opportunity"" imho.

I'm so glad I kept the packaging for Pandora's Box; now I have a safe place to put my hopeful optimism, as I carefully wrap it back up and store it away for next time.

On with the show!

I don't believe it will ever be over. Too much bad blood from both sides.
It's like standing in a room full of dynamite and everyone has a lit match.

It's just a matter of time.
