The Kremlin has announced that Vladimir Putin has been invited to join Donald Trump’s “board of peace”, set up last week with the intention that it would oversee a ceasefire in Gaza.
The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, told journalists on Monday that Russia was seeking to “clarify all the nuances” of the offer with Washington, before giving its response.
The claim of an invitation comes with Putin showing no signs of ending his invasion of Ukraine, in which hundreds of thousands have been killed and Russian troops have carried out atrocities against civilians. The Russian president has repeatedly rejected proposals of ceasefire along the current frontlines.

The Kremlin also said on Monday that Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev would be attending the World Economic Forum in Davos this week and would meet members of the US delegation there. It is unclear whether those meetings will involve discussions of the Gaza board.

The invitation to Putin, which has yet to be confirmed by Washington, raises more questions about the intended agenda for the board. It was originally part of Trump’s ceasefire proposals for the Gaza war, and was supposed to oversee the transition to a lasting peace in the territory and supervise the work of a committee of Palestinian experts, also announced last week, who would take care of the day-to-day running of Gaza. The vaguely described scheme was endorsed in a UN security council resolution in November.

It appears as Trump has out done himself if this story is to be believed. It appears as though Don' is creating a gang of Evil  board of peace in helping sort out Gaza's problems, and seems to of offere Putin a seat at the table.

Why would Trump invite Putin in from out of the cold and offer him a seat? I really don't see how this will help Gaza and Israel.
It reminds me of the grovelling Trump did when he invited Putin to Alaska, who offered nothing in return for Trumps efforts, and walked away looking like the one with all the power.

How can those around Trump not see this as anything but making him look like a Putin asset??

Trump's latest betrayal of his closets NATO/European allies and now this? NATO and the UN maybe a little broken, but it's stood for 80 years as a torch of partnership and democracy, all Trump is doing is passing the torch onto China as world leader and giving the world's power over to groups like BRICS.

Reality is that it should be replaced.   You can't even strip it down and try to fix it.

That being said, Trumps 'board of Peace' isn't what should replace it.    I understand
him wanting to go around the United Nations, they are corrupt to the core.   But 
his new panel or board isn't 'it'.

The thing is Flyer' every world forum has their plans for control and world domination in some form, but isn't it better if the west are the ones with some control. Just walking away and trying to go it alone in a world that is now a global 'community' just won't work.
The U.S. and countries like Great Britain, Denmark, Canada and Australia have stood shoulder to shoulder with America when it's needed a friend, without any real demands for that help.  
Now Trump is sh*ting on that 80 years of co-operation and friendship. Instead trying to cosy up to people like Putin??

Who knows, maybe this is the Kremlin trying to cause more trouble by releasing this story about Trump inviting Putin.

I don't think anyone can deny the U.N. needs a 'refresh' and being made more relevant to worlds needs in the 21st centaury, but since it's birth it's help with all kinds of missions, and they're perfect for peace keeping in this kind of situation.

In what reality is Putin a go to man for this kind of "board of peace"?
