Many anatomical sex differences driven by testosterone are not reversible. TBH, I am not a fan of "transgender women" in sports at the elite level who have undergone male puberty regardless of their current testosterone levels. However with that said, AMAB trans individuals who have never undergone male puberty thanks to GnRH agonists (blockers) and then maintain negligible testosterone levels do not develop the physical characteristics that would provide advantages over natal females and should be allowed to compete or at least be allowed an individualized evaluation for eligibility rather than be banned outright as a matter of blanket policy.

OK, fair enough. How does that work for high school sports? what's the criteria? who gets to decide, and who pays for the certification on a case-by-case basis When we are talking micro fraction of less than 1% of the female athletic participants are not biological women. But yeah, let's politically fight for the less than 1% and skew the competitive edge for a less than 1%. Brilliant We have no idea how many girls just choose not to participate. If that many trans people want to participate, create their own divisions. Americans don't need anything that keeps our collective fat asses from participating. So let's end gender based sports and see what happens to our competitions.

I understand your position, but I did read that any testosterone male traits/advantages created in prenatal and all the stages before puberty might be retained even if blockers are started before puberty, such as spatial advantages, etc. (explained in the study I provided). I was always against transgender women in sports only because there was not a lot of research to prove 'fairness' and even now there is no consensus because the research is scant and scattered and I wonder how much politics is playing into this to hold back proper research (?)

In a sane and fair world we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The ridiculousness of males in women’s sports is just that, ridiculous.
I’ve been playing various sports since 1st grade as well as coaching when I got older and I can say unequivocally that males are stronger, faster and have more endurance than women. It’s a no brainer that men should not be in women’s sports, can’t believe I even have to say it.
Apparently I’m in cult now, someone here told me so.

Has anyone ever watched the 400-meter event with such a participant at a recent Cali high school meet the "winning" participant won by almost a full minute? It's ridiculous and marginalizes and discourages the other participants.

Anyone that is for allowing men in women's sports, should also be for allowing doping and performance-enhancing drugs/steroids in sports.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

I can't bring myself to identify the circumstance as "illness." Anymore than it is ill to abandon your family and friends for a new faith. Or is it ill, to find a passion your community rejects in anger and disdain?
The problem is the never-ending self-imposed requirement to be as everyone else is. Society punished the individual who won't 'comply.' Eventually, it was seen, and openly recognized that society can't "dictate" non-criminal behavior. And societal angst and intransigence cannot be allowed to "compel" behavioral "normality" via "law." It cannot be "punishable" to be "ill." So why the stream of abuse and hate... what does it remedy? Nothing... it is manufactured... and "used" to drive the cattle towards conformity - as if that were a virtue. Behind the hate, they layer fear.... and eventually "a cause to endorse." This only evoke the response to "those" who are no different than "us" except in their personal behavior. How many millions paid to talking head activists to writhe and squirm and cast hateful outlooks, or vainly try to recast "virtue" to suit their opinion. Of course, we can expect some blow-back from treating literally millions of people as if - because they are different - they are somehow bad. You see, for every one of "those" people we reject, there a world of people who know them, and love them... and won't sit idly by while others make things worse for them. People who undergo medical and other therapies to present themselves as a different "gender" may actually be sick.... but that doesn't justify hating on them... and if they are not... they have committed to a rather severe path... but they chose to... People can "feel" about it any way they want to... But "BANNING" is an approach doomed challenge and 'exceptions.' Better it sets a standard... like... physiological sorting... doesn't matter how you "feel" yourself to be. To "physically" compete... you must BE what you say you are "physically." But still, even contemplating competing in women's event, as a former athlete "man" ... raises questions I can't reconcile... as in... why? I could only imagine the need as a "activism" trope... disruption for it's own sake. "Look at me." Which I admit is probably unfair... as I am no one to judge. |
