First the bad news : It's 13 degrees. My heat pump just went out. Have no idea why.
I heard the air stop and just thought it had shut itself off, but my wife noticed there was no reading on the thermostat. Mine doesn't have batteries, it runs off the unit. So, I went to the garage to reset the main breaker and it popped as soon as I tried to reset it. Then, I went to the outside box and saw one of the 2 had tripped, so I rest that one and then went back to the garage to reset the main. Popped as soon as I tried. So now, I get to wait till somewhere is open to get a service tech out here to figure it out. It's only 3 years old and I'm not messing with it.
This is probably about to get expensive.
More bad news. The wick on one of my kerosene heaters is too short, so it's un useable. I got one heater for a 2400 sq ft house.

I mean the old Terracotta plant pot, a big candle, and some bricks, heating trick springs to mind which works like a radiator.
But that's apt to only heat up small rooms as opposed to 2400 sq ft house.
And its also dangerous if you have pets or small kids.
I hope you manage to get an engineer out soon.
Take care and stay safe.
All the best.

Can you tell us the make and model of the heat pump?
Remote diagnostics is fun.

Am I the only one still waiting for the 'good' news?
Or did it just 'fly' over my head?
As far as the apple tree is concerned, there's probably not much difference between a worm and a human...

Oh, then it would be something like : "Well, at least nobody got hurt!"
So it did 'flew' past over my head!

I have no central air and heat only a tiny floor heater and my stove ^.^ im poor. However, Idk how handy you are but if you have a voltmeter handy, test the breaker, could be just a bad breaker and they are couple bucks hope that helps otherwise it may be expensive. If you have a lever at the top of the panel flip it off before replacing. They plug right in. Worth a try. You can also try taking one out from another slot and moving it into that slot to see if the pump kicks on if you dont have a meter
How fast does it trip does the breaker even turn on? If it doesnt even give it time to retrip thats another sign
Note: you will need a screwdriver to undo the wires from one breaker and plug them into another
Also, im sure you thought of it, but maybe you have warranty?

I’m going to guess that it’s your capacitor, they’re notorious for going bad and tripping breakers.
Apparently I’m in cult now, someone here told me so.
