Hello .I miss ATS

Little known fact; ATS originally meant All Tartar Sauce.

Until Kevin introduced his horseradish thread.

Then things went downhill.

Fucking Kevin.
You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourself from the prison of other people's opinions.

In some ways, DI is better. We can say fuck and not have DTOM spanking us.

Side note : I've had warnings from other Mods, but if it's DTOM, I feel like it's my Mom standing there with her arms crossed and that "I'm not mad I'm just disappointed" look on her face.

Grown ass 61 year old man and I still feel guilty.

Sixty one?  You're just a little shit, you were probably in forth grade when I graduated.  Mind your tongue kid.

I miss the 'new topics/threads' section that ATS used to have.

The 'new post' section on this website is garbage, I see something I like the sound of, click on it and see that it's an old thread with multiple pages that someone has just happened to recently add to  Sad  No thanks.

The website/app also thrashes my eyes when reading on mobile.

I really hope these things will get fixed at some point!!

These observations are important... I have taken the liberty of making sure it gets 'looked' at (not a programmer myself)...  But feel free to visit the Board and Business Forum and comment there too...

DI is very much a work in progress.... substantially interrupted... but we'll get there...

Why would anyone want to cater to your needs with your attitude?   You don't come onto a site and identify parts of it as "garbage".   Where is your site?  We want to critique it.

Do I sound defensive?   No.  I'm offensive.   This place -- DI -- has been the saving grace for many of us who loved ATS;  DI is every growing and changing.    You can be part of the good stuff with your contributions or you can whinge about what you miss.

I often think that the measure of most of us is our ability to adapt.   I encourage you to adapt with us.    Thumbup Thumbup

Wow calm down, no need to get your knickers in a twist - I didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just my personal opinion and observation - it's not like I'm going to boycott the site for a couple of gripes.  I just find it inconvenient to locate new topics when I only have a small amount of time to browse the site.

As for me calling somethjng 'garbage', maybe you're not from the UK and don't quite understand how we use it here? "Garbage" to me and my family/friends/colleagues etc is a super polite/jokey way of saying it's not ideal.  Perhaps the interpretation for you was something different?

Either way, your hostile response and accusing me of having an attitude was uncalled for.

Also, I can't imagine I'm the only user on the entire site with this opinion so it's not exactly catering to MY needs, I'm just the one who happened to mention it.

No need for the tit for tat attitude of 'you criticised my site so I'm going to criticise yours'- that seems pretty childish.

Again, wasn't whinging - just merely passing comment.

I admit I struggle to adapt, so apologies I don't measure up to what you expect of a user but hey, you can't handpick everyone and have a site full of perfect members, we are all different in our own ways.

It's okay.   We all struggle to adapt, but eventually it becomes a habit.   All the members are perfect, because what really makes  this place interesting is its diversity.   That means you and me also.  ;o)  Welcome to the fray.   Wink2

I do indeed miss ATS. All of it. Some of it got pretty dark to be sure and I had to temper my research into certain subjects that are very much not CT, yet horrific aspects of humankind and our collective history.

Except. And maybe this was just psychosomatic. But I swear towards the end I must’ve pissed someone off with access to the other side, or some Dark Woo because I would come away for days at a time feeling drained or on edge after posting. It wasn’t always that way. And yeah I tend to get under people’s skin.

maybe it was my own magic in word form coming back to haunt me, as caustic truth can stung, but I’m just aggressively curious. Just, after the Covid threads, my CNS felt fried. Strange times for sure.

That is an entire thread topic right there.

I've seen the vague, iffy media coverage about how some of the media we might be innocently sharing, also happens to have an "effect" on viewers.

People used to think the nasty, icky, just plain 'wrong' feeling they come away with after some social media perusing was a 'mind control' thing... maybe it's just a "emotion" control thing.

The COVID event has to have alerted at least some people that we are definitely being "told" what to think...
but what of they are also 'making us feel' to some abusive end... hell, Facebook did it and called it "research" years ago.

Think about looking into this - but fair warning...
There is a creepy theory about how some media is 'used' to this end...
research might mean actually 'looking for it'  ...   so .. paranoia ho!
