I made a statement based on my opinion, Slavic Ukraine and Russian Ukraine are the reason behind the 10 year civil war, that’s history.

Russia broke their agreement with the sovereign nation of Ukraine.
In the past they acknowledged Ukraines sovereignty.
Even though Ukraine is corrupt, Russia is the bad guy in this.
In response to the OP .... no, Ukraine has not collapsed.
It is still fighting.   
The war is basically a stalemate. 
And we all know that Putin has no intention of stopping.
So it may end up being an endless war ... billions in 'aid' sent in
to Ukraine to keep them afloat and fighting while Putin waits it out.

Ukraine is Slavic everywhere, silly.

And the fighting after 2014 started because Russia armed, funded, and sent forces into Donbas after invading Crimea.

That's documented, not debated.

Ukraine wanted membership of the European Union for trade, and the people voted in Zelensky because he wasn't a Russia puppet being told to look east to Moscow.
