Has Ukraine collapsed

The poster AGREED WITH PUTIN that the invasion was necessary.
Agreed with his reasons for doing so.

See ... you just jump in without even knowing what you are talking about.
Just so that you can argue with someone ... even before the sun is up.
Sickness.

The poster said 'so dismiss the 10 year civil war in Ukraine' and you went off on your usual schtick not asking the poster to clarify as the poster did not say anywhere that they agreed with Putin and did not say the invasion was necessary. He was discussing what role the 10 year civil war in Ukraine may have played a part.

You are so full of it.

This poster has stated that he agrees with Putin and that the reason was the 'civil war in Ukraine' (which in fact was just some Russian separatists).  He has stated it many times.  There was no need for him to 'clarify'.   He and I have had the conversation previously as have other people.    You didn't know that when you jumped into a conversation ... and so you were mistakenly calling me wrong and mistakenly agreeing with him when he agreed with Putins reason for invading.   Next time ... butt out ... save yourself embarrassment.

I'll have to hear that from the poster him/herself before I believe you. You have proven yourself to twist people's context and put words in others' mouths. I know you won't own your bad behaviour but you need to be told of it nevertheless.

Was a 10 year civil war and the Russian Ukrainians begged for help, the Western Slavic Ukrainians wanted control with the West and Biden government over Russian East Ukraine.
Minerals and bread basket of Europe, no chance
Putin warned and warned, hid nothing before the invasion.
I am sure if the West wanted to negotiate they could have but, war is money
Anyway, for what it’s worth, pretty sure it could have been negotiated, support it or not, I can understand why Russia went in.

Anyway, your analysis is pretty fair of my comments I think, thanks Quint’

And many of your comments hit the nail on the head re: US invading other countries.

Others on this thread also see why this was a powder keg waiting to blow up.

There is no other way to describe it but a civil war at the beginning, now it seems to have morphed into something else.

Do you still think Ukraine has collapsed even with foreign military aid and it's just prolonging the inevitable?

Now you're just mixing real tensions with stuff that just isn't true.

Ukraine didn't "beg" Russia to invade.

And Ukraine isn't split into neat pro-Russia east vs pro-West like a map meme.

Additionally, Biden didn't control Ukraine, and NATO wasn't about to invade Russia.

Minerals and farmland aren't a valid or legal excuse for invasion.

Warnings don't justify attacking your neighbor.

As to negotiations.

Yes, they were tried for years, and Russia still chose war.

Under the guise of military maneuvers being nothing to worry about.

I made a statement based on my opinion, Slavic Ukraine and Russian Ukraine are the reason behind the 10 year civil war, that’s history.

Yeah, that's not history, more like a pile of internet myths stitched together.

There was no 10-year civil war between "Slavic Ukraine" and "Russian Ukraine."

Ukraine is Slavic everywhere, silly.

And the fighting after 2014 started because Russia armed, funded, and sent forces into Donbas after invading Crimea.

That's documented, not debated.
