Faerie UFO Connection.

The idea of a UFO connection to 'ye olde Faerie lore' has been floating around for quite a while now and for folks interested in (or actively researching) 'high strangeness' UFO occupant cases then there does appear to be quite a number of similar aspects in reported appearance and behaviour which are explored below.

Probably best to forget the modern day Tinkerbell propaganda - the pantheon of earth elementals is found in a great many tribes around the world and when it comes to 'Faeries' they were often described as rather old, wizened, diminutive creatures with big heads and large magical eyes - also as rather dark, sinister entities (or mischievous tricksters) who reside in an unseen realm but have occasional interaction with humans.

Having said that there are also a great many different sizes and shapes reported (just like UFO occupants) and they were thought to live deep underground 'in darkened hollows, in mounds that opened up into vast, cavernous, winding regions'.. so did find the cryptoterrestrial hypothesis (CTH) connection an interesting one.

Also lots of historical tales of folks being 'dazzled and entranced' by Faerie lights and Fae travelling on 'clouds' (or in luminous globes) which lift and 'carry people across the sky' - the Faeries were also known for collecting water (just like UFOs) and there are a great many encounters involving completely bizarre time anomalies like the Oz factor, time slips, time dilation, missing time etc.

Also lost count over the years of how many global reports I've read about UFOs chasing and interfering with motor vehicles (link) so also found it curious that, back in the day, Faeries were 'notorious for harassing travellers along highways'.

In Faerie lore the giving then taking back of 'gifts' is also a thing and that aspect pops up in quite a number of UFO occupant cases - it's also been noted by a few different researchers that when it comes to the behaviour of 'UFOnauts' it really does look like they're putting on some kind of contrived 'display' (wanting to be seen collecting samples, fixing their vehicles etc..) and there's one of many possible examples described here.

When it comes to outright 'abduction' it seems there are quite a few other shared characteristics between UFO and Faerie lore including being taken to a brightly lit rooms with no obvious source of light; encountering one taller individual with smaller assistants; having an obsession with human reproduction and family lineage (cannot reproduce/need humans) and even scoop marks left on the body afterwards (faerie pinches).

Also found it a bit freaky that Fae were sometimes reported to have a luminous appearance; be telepathic; have the ability to cause or heal sickness; absorb food through the skin; become invisible and walk through walls (as that's also been reported with 'aliens').

Ye olde folks also described being paralysed or 'fairy stroked' by small strange beings holding 'wands' and suppose that's comparable to modern day encounters where UFO occupants use handheld devices to paralyze people - there are a number of modern day examples and here's one (from 20:00) which was investigated by the French government.

Jacques Vallee's 'cult classic' book 'Passport To Magonia' was probably one of the first to bring some of these very strange parallels to mass public consciousness and it's now in the public domain.. so if anyone wants to read it it's freely available on PDF file here (and audiobook here).

When it comes to contemporary research then the book 'A Trojan Feast' is also causing quite a stir and author Joshua Cutchin has conducted some really great work on Faerie 'food taboos', non-human encounters and the close similarities between UFO/Faerie abductees being offered 'thick liquids' to drink and strange pills to swallow - strange parallels to the Sattvic diet are also brought up.

• Other aspects:

Bizarre as it sounds Fae abductions also share certain analogues with modern day 'Missing 411' profile points including specific associations with boulder fields, berry bushes, weather change, neatly folded clothes, shoe stealing etc.

Going down the Faerie rabbit hole even further then Fae were also well known to 'interfere' with livestock and emit a 'fairy blast' which rendered cattle totally incapacitated (mutes?) and, according to John Keel, the Faerie lore of the Celtic countries is filled with strange accounts of intimidating trickster type individuals who were always dressed in black (MIBs?) - it could be nothing but there also seems to be a Sasquatch type Fae creature known as a 'Woodwose' lol.

All healthy speculation of course and would be interested in any opinions on the subject - are all these aspects instances of the same underlying phenomenon and if so WTF is going on?

Some of that ye olde literature is rather unsettling when describing faeries riding the wind on giant clouds selecting which humans to take (presumably for reproductive agendas) and when it comes to common folklore traits suppose it's quite difficult to find an aboriginal tribe which doesn't tell tales of Fae, earth elementals or little folk - also found it interesting that the one word which keeps popping up time and again in both Fae folklore and UFO research is 'trickster'.

John Keel's 'Ultraterrestrial' hypothesis spoke of beings that may have evolved on this planet but 'are inhabiting a spectrum wavelength of energy which we cannot see' so considering the book below was published back in 1911 thought it made some pretty astute points.

There seems to have been always and everywhere (or nearly so) a belief in a race, neither divine nor human, but very like to human beings, who existed on a 'plane' different from that of humans, though occupying the same space.

This has been called the 'astral' or the 'fourth-dimensional' plane. Why 'astral'? why 'fourth-dimensional'? why 'plane'? are questions the answers to which do not matter, and I do not attempt to defend the terms, but you must call it something.

This is the belief to which Scott refers in the introduction to The Monastery, as the 'beautiful but almost forgotten theory of astral spirits or creatures of the elements, surpassing human beings in knowledge and power...'

Yes pretty fascinating subject mate and suppose if one's been immersed in freaky UFO accounts long enough then there is a danger of seeing patterns where none exist.. - specific details in the ye olde literature do seem to pop out though.

Here's one from Sweden back in the eighteenth century taken from Vallee's book 'Wonders In The Sky' - apparently the town priest recorded the details and there's more info at the link.
