This is a compiled sequence of events from a few different video angles. Police response was reasonably quick.

The video suggests the PD didn't get shots on target till approximately 5:29; there had already been 61 shots fired by the terrorists by then. 

It's just frustrating that a semi-proficient hunter could have easily taken both of them out from the vantage point of the full video camera man.

Odd no one has mentioned the gunmen was former IDF. And of course the concurrent spike in searches for his name prior to the attack is there too from certain places. Of course the guy that winged in the head was at 10/7. What an unlucky sonuva….

i feel for the Aussies there at Bondi. Terrible act. Whatever the take. And I gotta say, Bibi did warn y’all back in August. Just like he warned the states the Towers were fair game back in ‘95.

I don't see a direct correlation between Bondi shooting and the murder of this MIT professor except that he was (reportedly) Jewish and Israel is pointing blame at Iran

Glad you mention the average hunter. we all use to go sear fishing when younger and we would have been shot by the cops just getting out the car with the gear at a popular beach like Bondi.

Add CBS News on GoogleAustralian police carried out a dramatic operation in a Sydney suburb on Thursday, with heavily armed officers in tactical gear reportedly ramming a car and at least briefly detaining several men amid the ongoing investigation into the Sunday terror attack on a Jewish holiday gathering at the city's Bondi Beach.
The New South Wales state police force said in a statement that two cars were intercepted by tactical operations officers responding "to information received that a violent act was possibly being planned."
The operation was conducted in Sydney's southwest suburb of Liverpool, about a half hour drive away from Bondi Beach. Police said they had "not identified any connection to the current police investigation of the Bondi terror attack."
Australian news outlets NewsWire and The Australian newspaper said the intercepted men were believed to be heading for Bondi from the city of Melbourne, almost 550 miles away in Victoria state.
No arrests were announced, though photos from the scene showed men sitting on the ground as officers moved around them.
