It boils down to not getting the right help or getting the wrong help. Anyone can snap if they have too much pressure for too long. 

We still know little about how the brain works and how to fix it.

Yes, that is what the news media is reporting, but I'm not sure because I thought I first read that he only escaped to Oak Island after the shooting, but initial reports could be wrong.
