Venezuelan tanker which broke through the Caribbean blockade heading towards Russia is currently being boarded by US Special Forces just off UK coast.
It came from Iran to Venezuela, was heading from there to Russia changing it's name and registration to Russia.
No oil on board..... so what is on there?
I am literally just heading out to see clients, so will miss the initial news links to this breaking news, my apologies.

I don't think the Trump Administration can decide whether Russia is a friend or foe?? The State of the Russian Navy is pretty much laughable now in comparison to the US Navy, so I don't think there's much Russia could've done about it. I imagine Putin will find some reason to blame the UK for this, as the US troops possibly flew from bases in Scotland.

They did come out and say some very ""harsh"" things about Trump's latest Venezuelan kidnapping and invasion shenanigans.
Maybe this is a type of response.

I Imagine they're not to happy about this either, from Russia...

Quote:Ahead of the Marinera’s seizure, Kremlin adviser and former Russian deputy foreign minister Andrei Fedorov warned such a move would be considered an attack on Russia.
“For Russia, it’s a very important thing, because if there will be attack from US, it will be considered as attack on Russia, and it could lead to very critical or maybe even crisis situation in relations between Russia and US,” he told BBC Radio 4’s World At One programme.
Mr Fedorov said Russian submarines speeding towards the tanker would not fire on the US forces but could cause “technical difficulties” such as a “slight collision”.
He said the Marinera was registered in Sochi within hours..

Ah...
They painted a flag to appear Russian... and painted a new name on the hull of the ship.

There were several ships recently that have done this.
Quote: Noem said that the Bella 1 had been trying to evade the Coast Guard for weeks, “even changing its flag and painting a new name on the hull while being pursued, in a desperate and failed attempt to escape justice.” The “heroic” crew of USCGC Munro, she added, pursued the vessel “across the high seas and through treacherous storms.”

Well i hope they landed on her gently.
Because she looks about ready to take her place in Davy Jones locker with the next strong wind.

LoL
I don't know about "Carlsberg"
But it looks like like if harsh housing schemes did Oil Tankers.

Maybe this 'game' being played has different rules.
I mean... "sneaking" oil tankers around, hacking their appearance or registration to 'stay inside maritime law,' while in fact "keeping secrets" for some reason.
The Venezuelans (or Russians) orchestrating the transfer can't possibly believed the US wasn't "watching."
What was the point of the Russian Navy even bothering to shadow this vessel... there certainly weren't any 'surprises' in how this went down.
The US administration finally (FINALLY) actually did what they are good at... 'fixing' dangerous problems.
Usually, politicians subvert the mission right up front with leaks and 'political noise.'
But when the military is told to "do a mission"... they do it.
Imagine a new perception out there... "Those Americans are not going to stop until we are gone...
and they will simply 'come get us' no matter what."
An overnight decapitation of a serious threat to law and order - done and done.
Now, as per usual 'world-event' scripting... the rats are leaving the sinking ship....
"oil" being shipped out under clandestine circumstances... sneaking.
I can promise you this... the theoretical "check" made out in payment for that "oil" wasn't addressed to "the people of Venezuela."
