Metaphorically, James Bond's "gun" was removed years ago by woke feminists. Now, Amazon is literally removing his sidearm.

What will be next? We've already seen cigarettes and smoking digitally removed from movies for years. Where does it end? Real-time AI rewriting of scripts and dialog, based on the viewer's preferred trigger warnings? Oops, can we even call them "trigger" warnings any more? Let's digitally re-edit history so they've always been called "sensitivity" warnings.

I like to go back and watch movies from before the early 2010s - so much better.

Or his spy agency's mad scientists could invent a wearable outer shell with matching hat, both capable of performing incredible defensive actions; so much better than a gun. Perhaps an armed drone could be concealed in the hat then released when needed. So many better ideas to be had.
