Exotic materials are artificially made, me thinks. Or you just hinting of it being an alien vessel without directly calling it so? Or we live in a matrix....

When I say 'exotic materials' I'm simply referring to what it's made of. It could have been a piece of anything. Something formed around a magnetar or some such. It doesn't sound like a usual comet, given its behaviour.

This comet or instellar whatever is annoying. And it epitomizes my annoyance with YouTube. All I wanted was a simple little science-based update. So I search "3i Atlas update."
And then have to filter through all the AI scripts all trying to illuminate me with their pseudoscientific British narrator nonsense. Videos titled, "NASA is scared," "NASA is silent," of maybe "NASA just thinks your all idiots and dont need to comment." So I found the science one I wanted. The one with without alien lights. But he's Russian and narrating YouTube Videos in English is not his strong suit. Actually quite mumbly. But at least he doesn't make me feel dumber for having watched his video.

In this video Avi Loeb freaks out a news reporter by discussing 3I/ATLAS and the need for preparedness and contingency plans for a Black Swan event.

So I watched the video and Avi basically said to the reporter that 'we just don't know' about it. He also said there are three orbiters around Mars, NASA, EU and China, that will be taking pictures and by the end of this week we all should get a good look. I can't wait to see it myself. Meanwhile: Look up tonight for a glimpse of the Andromeda Galaxy - visible to the naked eye. "Visible to the naked eye under dark skies, it appears as a faint, misty patch. With binoculars or a small telescope, you can see its bright core and even hints of its spiral arms. • Find a dark location away from city lights. • Look northeast after nightfall. • Use a star app to locate Andromeda between Cassiopeia and Pegasus."

At that distance, HiRISE won’t be able to capture surface detail... the comet will probably appear as just a single bright pixel, maybe with a faint coma spread across a few pixels. HiRISE data will be compared with Hubble, JWST, and other ground telescopes to measure its size, etc.. as for China’s Tianwen-1 HiRIC camera: Similar telescope size to HiRISE but less sharp... it's resolution at 3I/ATLAS distance is 280 km/pixel, the comet would appear as a faint point.... then ESA’s Mars Express SRC/HRSC camera is even lower. Visually... Hubble has the best zoomed in image of 3I/ATLAS. https://science.nasa.gov/asset/hubble/comet-3i-atlas/ I think Gemini Multi-Object Spectrograph (GMOS) on Gemini South at Cerro Pachón in Chile has the best images of 3I/ATLAS. At that time, the HiRISE camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter will be able to image 3I/ATLAS with a resolution of 30 kilometers per pixel. The resulting closeup image might separate the contributions of the nucleus and surrounding dust cloud to the total luminosity of reflected sunlight stemming from 3I/ATLAS. |
