3 I/Atlas Photo? Mars Perseverance Sol 719: SkyCam Camera

What is this image showing?  It's been mentioned lately as a photo of 3 I/Atlas.  

I was doubtful that it was a real image but yes, it's real, as it's posted on NASA's website of Mars images.  The pic was snapped in 2023.

I'm not seeing how to embed images, but here's a link to NASA's webpage with the image and description:

The top-right has the strange alien-looking object but NASA doesn't give an explanation with the picture.  Which makes me doubtful that it's showing alien craft, but then, what is it actually showing?

Probably part of the rover's arm, as that camera is facing up.

Agreed, it's probably part of the rover... if not something slightly more exotic, like a glimpse of an Earthly satellite, or Earthly space junk, etc.  

I guess the next step should be looking if the same camera is always catching similar images, in all of its photos, or not.

^Nice, thanks for the info, I didn't see it at first, but yes clicking "MEDA SkyCam" does choose only those sky-shots.  With all of them showing the same UFO / part of the rover.  :D

I could have researched it more before posting the thread, but I just made the thread when I located the specific NASA webpage with the photo, which verified that it's a real photo.  (Up to then, I was wondering if it was fake.)

Also I thought the image deserved its own thread, even if just to debunk it, because the image is getting some popularity lately as a pic of 3I/Atlas.  I've seen it presented as such, in at least a few different YT videos.

So the image needed to be verified or debunked, lol.  It's just been a stupid trend lately, to group this image with the current news about 3I/Atlas.
