So I thought I would have a little snack before hittin' the road earlier, and I opted for the Johnsonville Beef Brats. I saw this little brown bag that had these cute little yellow/orange peppers marked: Habanero.
I was thinking one of those Habaneros might be good diced up as a topper for the beef brats, so I got to preparing my snack, and even the cat came to hangout as she usually does and also for the ocasional handouts.
And after about a minute in my left eye started burnin' and twitchin', and got me to thinking about whether or not I should maybe be reformulatin' this little "snack" idea I got goin' on here.
I could sense and also feel the danger, but when all was said and done they were actually really good and flavorful.
The heat scale was just off the charts and judging by the way the cat exited the kitchen I think she may have gotten into a little bit of it as well.
I remember back in the 90s my Uncle got a splash of "Dave's Insanity Sauce" in his eye and was crying for hours. It was one of the first super-hot sauces I recall ever seeing.
I like the El Yucateco green habanero sauce. Extremely hot. Not for the weak of heart.
Have you ever tried anything with ghost peppers in it? Back when they first hit the scene, a co-worker bought a big bag full of them and we had a ghost pepper eating contest. Whew! Those things... the burn... it goes beyond pain to numb.... then it keeps going.... nothing stops it. Not milk, not bread. You think it can't possibly get hotter - then it does. Takes about 20-25 minutes to wear off. If you're constipated, it'll all be coming out that night!
