US citizen, 67, ‘has ribs broken’ by Border Patrol agents

What did he do that was "criminal" or "illegal"?

Interfering with law enforcement in their duties.
It's against the law.

obstructed federal agents.
Quote:Obstructing a federal agent can lead to a felony conviction, with penalties depending on the specific federal law violated. Common offenses include interfering with agents' official duties, tampering with witnesses or evidence, or bribery in connection with a federal investigation. The core of these laws is to prevent actions that impede federal proceedings or endanger public officials.
 Forms of obstruction
  • Interfering with duties: Willfully obstructing, resisting, or interfering with a federal law enforcement agent performing their duties is a felony. This can include physical interference or other actions that impede their work.
  • Tampering with witnesses or evidence: It is illegal to use force, intimidation, or deception to prevent someone from testifying, producing evidence, or to destroy or conceal evidence related to a federal investigation.
  • Bribery: Offering or accepting bribes to obstruct a federal criminal investigation is a crime.
  • Assaulting officials: Physically assaulting, resisting, or intimidating federal officers in the performance of their duties is a serious federal crime.
Examples of obstructive acts
  • Physically blocking an agent's path or movement
  • Lying to a federal investigator or providing false documents to impede an investigation
  • Destroying or concealing evidence
  • Threatening or harming a juror, witness, or official

What, by trying to get to his home?

Talk about "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime".

He didn't have the right away to proceed to his home because it interfered with the federal agents operation.

Believe it or not you don't have the right to just  do what you want here.

ICE doesn't equate to Nazi stormtroopers.   They simply don't.
Nazi and Hitler references automatically lose a discussion.
BTW ... Ice isn't attacking civilians, the civilians interfere with them first, which is against the law.
Ice is enforcing the law.   The civilians interfering with them are breaking the law.
It's just that simple.

The way that they assault a 76 year old man, who's only crime appears to have been honking his horn, just screams brutality.
As I never mentioned the term Hitler or Nazi, and was referring to the tactics of Brown/black shirt types of groups, I don't see you analogy.

The police attacked a civilian, we don't know the cause other than from the people there at the time. Who claim he had nothing to do with any law breaking and was only trying to park on his driveway.
From the videos posted so far, he doesn't seem to using his car as a weapon and I cant see how a 67 year old sitting in his car would be a threat?? Also from those on the scene no warning of tear gas was issued but was used.

If your significant other or child is being arrested you don't have the right to step in and impede that process. You don't extra rights to brake laws because you don't like them.

They are federal agents lawfully doing their jobs you don't get to impede that with parking your car in the middle of their operation and blowing the horn your car or age doesn't extend you those extra rights.
