The real danger in Iran isn't the people—it's the regime hanging them. #StopExecutionsInIran

In the past four decades, few moments have posed as grave a threat to the survival of the clerical regime as the present day. This is why they have escalated their campaign against the Iranian people through a wave of mass executions. #StopExecutionsInIran

Everything old is new again, between the hardline military and the hardline clerics, the Iranian GP has no chance.

A senior Iranian cleric close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said the 12-day war losses were a small price to prove that Iran’s decades-old “death to Israel” slogan was justified. “It’s now been proven that for 40 to 50 years we were right to chant ‘death to Israel’—even the opposition now says it,” Alireza Panahian said in a televised interview aired this week. “These blows we’ve taken were a low cost to show the slogan was right,” he added. Panahian, a hardline cleric with ties to Khamenei’s office, has previously called for Muslims to kill US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following threats made against Iran’s supreme leader. His comments came after senior Shiite clerics issued religious decrees labeling such threats as acts of “moharebeh” (warring against God), which under Islamic law can carry the death penalty.

Much like nuclear weapons the world can't let Iran mine the Strait of Hormuz either. Plus it's much easier to stop it before it happens than having to run mine sweepers afterwards.

Could be the US justifying the hit as well.

NEW U.S. intelligence reports say Iran began preparing to mine the Strait of Hormuz in June 2025, shortly after Israeli strikes on its nuclear sites. Iranian forces loaded naval mines onto vessels in the Persian Gulf, signaling possible plans to block the key waterway that carries 20% of the world’s oil and gas. The activity was tracked by satellite and other intel sources, sparking serious concern in Washington.

I thought Trump said that your country does not need any other country's oil and gas, you got more oil/gas than any other country...drill, baby, drill...or was that another fish story?

And others here are the ones doing the political baiting, sure....

Why would anyone just sit back and let Iran cut of 20% of the worlds oi land gas supply? Regardless if we need it or not, it would be moronic to let them attempt to do the same thing they did back in the 80s. Didn't work then, won't work now.
Au contraire, silly rabbit

America is and would be fine;

The Strait of Hormuz affects GLOBAL trade.

GLOBAL as in the whole world, not just America and your so-called Donald "King"

global /glō′bəl/
adjective
  1. Having the shape of a globe; spherical.
  2. Of, relating to, or involving the entire earth; worldwide.
    "global war; global monetary policies."

  3. Comprehensive; total.

Quote:Based on the latest data:
  • The Strait of Hormuz directly facilitates approximately 20-25% of global seaborne oil trade and 20-33% of LNG trade, translating to about 4-5% of total world commerce by value when considering energy’s share of global trade.
  • Its strategic role amplifies its impact, with potential disruptions affecting up to 10% or more of global commerce due to supply chain ripple effects.

Why would Trump stick his nose in the oil/gas industry there if you don't need the oil/gas there? Isolationism was one of his campaign promises, right?

And asking legit questions as to your dear leader's motivations in the middle east is not political baiting, it's asking for legit answers to why his actions go opposite to his campaign promises.

They may simply have the capability to track the vessels, if those vessels were foolish enough to attempt mining the Strait of Hormuz in the first place.

Once mines are deployed, it's likely that their locations or coordinates could be geo-tagged in real time.

Make the subsequent mine-sweeping operations significantly easier and more efficient, as forces would already have a rough map of where to focus their efforts.
