Just thought I'd check back in to see how quickly Trump's war in Iran had finally been wrapped up, and see if the peace in the middle east was bringing joy to world???

The two Koreas have been at war with each other, legally speaking, since 1950. Every so often one side or the other will commit a hostile act and its opponent will respond. No-one seriously thinks of this as an ongoing war, though. The Korean War as such ended in 1953.

India and Pakistan present a different example of how two countries can conduct episodic hostilities for more than half a century without an ongoing hot war. China and India, yet another.

Do you believe the Hundred Years’ War really was fought over a hundred years? No, it blew hot and blew cold for a century.

These latest strikes have had the effect of drawing our token Zionist back to the thread, but I doubt they’ll achieve anything more substantive than that. They are just Trump’s thrashings-about. The Iranians have him well and truly hooked.

Iran, Not Trump, is in Control of This War

While those are good examples of prolonged conflicts, I don’t think they serve as a perfect analogy.

Many have tried to sell the war of Iran for decades now and we finally got to kinetic back and forths. The most recent blows include Iranian strikes on US bases. That alone is enough to make one skeptical of a looming peace deal… But alas, we don’t have a peace deal, only the outline to one.

Some of that outline has also proven to be very hard to attain. For instance the Lebanon question and also the fees for the strait.

The difference you and I have is that you see the war is over in absolute terms whereas I’ve been noting I’m skeptical it is over. I very well may be wrong, and I sincerely hope I am.

They are already walking around with flamethrowers and machine guns! That is what an American civilian can purchase and own, and these videos are years old. But in reality, all Iran has to do is stop shooting at civilian ships in violation of our understanding, and then try to say that WE?! are the ones violating the understanding? Give me a break. Definitely not going to win hearts and minds from their neighbors, but I think you may be missing their logic here (even though their logic is still flawed).

I may have misinterpreted your comment, but I take it you view them as arbitrarily attacking other Arab nations. They claim they are targeting US bases in the region. 

The reason I noted this as flawed logic on their part is I imagine they think they’re punishing Arab states for hosting the US military. They’ll likely push the alliance closer and strengthen relationships, at least in the short term. This will just add to the number of countries hostile to them.

Logic? I'd say if there is any it's Putin causing all this to edge up oil prices to keep his adventures in eastern Europe rolling financially. Know exactly where your'e coming from on punishing the arab. It's a straightforward propaganda for the Persian people that they are in a religious war with Sunni, Arab, Jews, Christians, USA, Israel. In some ways places like Jordan are semi colonial outposts for the yanks, hosting bases and military transplants from the Americas. Allit will do is push Jordana nd Israel, Saudi etc closer and that is possibly a good thing. At least for the leaderships.
