The US initially said the blockage applied to any and all ships entering or leaving the Strait before later clarifying the blockade was limited to any and all traffic leaving/entering Iranian ports.

However several ships have been allowed through despite having left from Iranian ports with two being ships already subject to US sanctions in the last 24 hours (Rich Starry and Murlikishan) so who knows what, if anything, the blockade covers.

EDIT: Elpis is the third tanker leaving Iranian ports the US have let through despite the ship also being sanctioned by the US prior to the current conflicT.

Its to blockade iranian ships, why would he be interested in stopping world trade thats what iran is interested in

China did get a lot of rocket fuel to Iran in the early days of the conflict. Will America steal it or blow it up if a similar shipment goes through?

Glad to hear Trump ain't ready to go Mad Max yet in hitting the China oil. As for how this drama plays out in the coming months, both sides are digging in for a long one.

And even if the U.S. COULD supply the world in lieu of Iran (they can’t), none of this will transfer to the American people in terms of savings/cost.
