I can't quote your post the usual way for some reason, so....
Quote:Muslim kinship?
I think the great capitalist fuckfest and Trump's tendency to make deals and suck up to crowned princes has lost Iran moderate Arab sympathy.
This 'kinship' is something only Westerners perceive. I spent years living in the Gulf and never saw much evidence of it. Besides, Iranians are Shias; the only other Shia-majority countries in the Middle East are Iraq and Bahrain, and Bahrain is a 'country' you can walk round in a day. All the other Middle Eastern nations have big Sunni majorities, and Sunnis are not very fond of Shias.
Arab sympathy for Iranians has never been high, believe me.
Quote:Lebanon is finished with Hezbollah.
Ah, but Hezbollah is not finished with Lebanon.
The Lebanese state has no power to oppose anyone, my friend. It exists purely at the pleasure of Hezbollah... and Israel.
Quote:they have a real opportunity to cripple Iranian Influence
That opportunity was lost when Trump tried to shake down the world with his tariffs.

Trump is not letting China sell weapons to Iran. Tariff penalties.
So the plan is to charge Americans 50% more for Chinese imports, so that Chinese weapons can be used against Americans in the middle east.
Great plan.

Fully agreed. The Sunni-Shia divide has been in place for millenia and will remain enemies for centuries to come. Though Saudi are more Wahhabism which is the millitant/terrorist branch of Islam but as part of OPEC the West agreed not to interfere with their religion in return for their oil..
The conflict seems to have made Shia countries like Iraq go all in for supporting Iran and become openly against the West, but there has been a major breakthrough with Arab/Shia countries collaborating with Israel which would habe been unthinkable a few years ago.

They don’t want their country turned into Libya.
Why would they want a mess like that?

My own country has friendly relations and trade partnerships with both Iran and the USA, so I will not express any sentiment about this. But to any unbiased observer, it is pretty clear who is the aggressor here and who the victim; also, who has right on their side and who merely has might. The crimes of the Iranian regime are a shameful fig-leaf of an excuse for what the US and Israel are doing to the Iranian people. It cannot conceal their thirst for blood. And it’s not just their leaders either – just look at the mindless hostility and bloodlust on display in this thread.
It’s not just Trump, it’s a long list even before Trump, it’s the endemic evil, it’s Israel
i don’t think it’s Americans as a people, I think it’s the political lies and crimes that the government foist on their citizens. Same as Australia as it stands

Diplomacy, nonsense, you are israels attack dogs, and you are being mauled by Iran, Trump wants out but won’t be allowed
you wiped out their navy, except mines and subs, all talk
Talk it up but, as a non American, I hope Iran hands you and Israel your tails
Tell me, what are you doing in Iran, I missed it the first time
Lies.
How do you propose Iran do that?
They are currently a one-legged man in a buttkicking contest.
Odds are better that you win the powerball without even buying a ticket than Iran handing anybody their own arse.
If the US actually had a king or dictator, Iran would already be glass.

What they are doing now seems to be working, you can send in the troops but, well let’s see how that goes
Iran is not a country you can just invade, it’s terrain is a bit difficult

As we have been blinded to the heavyweight fight of the year with all the censorship in place. Israel has been taking damage along with their infrastructure throughout the region.

Not only that it is also thought, by the ex-military veterans that I listen to, that they have prepared for this type of conflict for over 20 years and have thousands of underground missile launch sites that can't be easily located.
As for their drone manufacturing capabilities, well they have learned valuable lessons along the way watching what happens to other countries who rely on others for supplying them with war equipment.
----------
" Yes, Iran manufactures its own drones domestically, relying heavily on local production to bypass international sanctions and avoid reliance on foreign suppliers. The vast majority of Iran's current drone fleet is homegrown, with key models like the Shahed-136, Shahed-129, and Mohajer-6 produced by state-owned entities such as Shahed Aviation Industries, Ghods UAV Industries, and Qods Aviation Industry.
While Iran has reverse-engineered designs from captured foreign drones (such as the US RQ-170, MQ-1 Predator, and Israeli Hermes 450), the assembly and manufacturing of airframes and systems occur within Iran using domestic companies and local resources. Some components, particularly advanced electronics, engines, and autopilot systems, are reportedly sourced through the gray market or dual-use imports from countries including Turkey, India, Kazakhstan, and the United States, but the final assembly and integration are conducted locally.
Iran's production capacity is significant, with reports indicating the ability to produce around 10,000 drones per month, including a massive stockpile of Shahed-series loitering munitions. This industrial capability allows Iran to export drones to allies like Russia (who manufactures Russian variants like the Geran-2) and various non-state actors, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis."

I wonder if China or Russia will supply them with nukes.
