Ah the the same old attempts at telling people they don't understand!!
Do you remember Trump withdrew from the deal, tell us all what year was that??

Unconfirmed reports by Nour News (close to Iran’s SNSC) says the reason why an account affiliated with Iran’s IRGC posted the F-15 ejected seat was to lure in US forces. It says IRGC ground forces commandos have already found both the pilots, which also explains why US search&rescue operation has a difficult time finding the pilot(s).
Nour News says it cannot independently verify this report.
Other (very) unconfirmed reports have also stated the one or both pilots have been captured by the IRGC.
According to Iran’s State TV, the pilots statuses are unknown

This is a lie. It's actually multiple lies that stack on each other. It's not how the JCPOA was structured in theory and it's not what happened in practice over the last 10 years.
1. The deal legalized Iran enriching uranium in unlimited amounts to unlimited levels as it expired, which would be happening right now. Even Obama said that by the out years the breakout time would shrink to almost zero.
2. After Trump withdrew from the deal, the Iranians did not make significant progress on their nuclear program until Biden was elected. Maximum pressure kept the program in a box. They did not enrich above 5%, cascade advanced centrifuges, etc. They only crossed those lines AFTER November 2020 because they assessed, correctly, that Biden would appease them.
There's an important argument about how these two issues are related.
The reason we seemingly live in a timeline in which the JCPOA was implemented and Iran’s breakout time went to zero is because we actually do live in that world.
Biden unilaterally reimplemented the core parts of the deal: he rescinded the UN snapback to dismantle international sanctions, allowed Iran to export oil at JCPOA levels, and reissued Annex 3 civil-nuclear waivers to let the regime build out its nuclear program.
But we can’t get to any of that if people won’t stop lying.
So instead we exited early and sped up the timeline? There still would have been a chance to renegotiate when it expired while they were still under inspection to make sure they weren’t going for a nuke.
So then they started enriching either to get leverage for a deal with easing of sanctions, or they were actually trying to get a nuke. And here we are.
Maybe the deal was imperfect, probably was, most are considering there is some level of compromise on both sides.
But we tried to get similar deals before the 12 year war. I think the party most unhappy with any of the deals is obvious, and it wasn’t us.
Now we’ve lost soldiers, look to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on something that could have had a different path. And alas, what have we achieved? We destroyed their world class navy and Air Force? That probably would have happened on its own seeing as if was all old. They still had F-14s lol.

Trumps attack on Iran was at one point (before he flip flopped) all about Iran and it's nukes.
There are other countries like North Korea who have claimed "Death to America" which was part of the reasoning from many of the Trump cult for the attacks on Iran.
Russia has threatened the use of nukes in recent years, and they are supporting Iran now.

A little reading for you from last year...
https://time.com/7297970/iran-nuclear-pr...poa-trump/
Quote:Trump Should Have Never Ditched the Iran Nuclear Deal.
Questions remain over the true damage to Iran’s nuclear program. But as conflicting comments and reports come in from the Trump Administration and Pentagon intelligence estimates, one thing is certain: Trump’s failed diplomacy got us in this mess.
I should know. Ten years ago, I was in Vienna as part of the U.S. team negotiating a deal to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
Those negotiations culminated in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). It was Trump’s decision in 2018 to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal that ultimately led to the perilous situation in the Middle East today.
The JCPOA was the result of a sustained campaign of principled, effective U.S. diplomacy. President Obama began laying groundwork for this nuclear deal as soon as he came to office in 2009. His view—shared then and now across the U.S. political spectrum—was that the U.S. cannot accept a nuclear-armed Iran. At the time, Iran claimed that its nuclear energy program was for exclusively peaceful uses. Yet given evidence of Iran’s past interest in possessing a nuclear bomb prior to 2003, the U.S. could not take this claim at face value.
To get the nuclear deal, Obama and his national security team rallied the world to increase pressure on Tehran. The U.S., E.U., and other allies put in place punishing sanctions. The U.N. Security Council followed suit with a fresh round of sanctions in June 2010 that were wide-ranging and targeted the nuclear program.
These sanctions worked: they convinced Iran to come to the negotiating table. To iron out the technical provisions of a deal, the U.S. then put together a team of top career diplomats, nuclear scientists, lawyers, and sanctions experts. It was a remarkable line up of American patriots and professionals. It was my great honor to serve on that team.
Our goal was to offer Iran phased and reversible sanctions relief in exchange for far-reaching limits on Iran’s nuclear activities. To maximize leverage, we coordinated with other countries, including not just European allies but also Russia and China. It was difficult, exacting, high-stakes work—for months on end.
The effort paid off. Iran agreed to substantial limits on its nuclear activities, including to export out of the country around 98% of its enriched uranium stockpile. Iran’s commitments were then subject to intrusive and permanent international monitoring. By the end of the Obama Administration, the deal was working, with all sides implementing their commitments.
Trump’s abrupt withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018 led to the predictable result: Iran’s nuclear program surged ahead, breaking free of the deal’s constraints.
When Trump returned to office in January, he launched a hasty effort to negotiate a new deal. But it bore a striking resemblance to the deal negotiated by Obama, with one nuclear expert calling the Trump framework a “dollar store JCPOA.”
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu tanked these talks with airstrikes on June 12. The U.S. launched its own strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22.
Trump seems convinced the matter is now resolved. But what will be the fate of the tons of enriched uranium that Iran stockpiled after Trump withdrew from the JCPOA? How much Iranian nuclear infrastructure remains intact? Will Iran ever welcome back intrusive international monitoring of its nuclear activities, such as specified in the JCPOA?

I imagine if this is true and the pilots are still alive, Iran will want to parade them on live TV for the world to see. Nothing good can come of this

It is difficult to know what Iranian leaders will do with them, if they are still alive. That is, if they survived the ejection:
" Yes, most pilots survive ejections, with an average survival rate of approximately 90%. Despite the violent nature of the process, which subjects the body to forces of 12–16 Gs, modern ejection seat technology is designed to be the difference between life and death.
However, survival often comes with significant physical consequences: - Injuries: About 20% to 30% of pilots suffer spinal fractures, while others experience torn muscles, herniated disks, and severe bruising.
- Fatality Risk: Roughly 10% of ejections result in fatalities, a risk that increases drastically at high speeds (above 500 knots), where the fatality rate can reach 90%.
- Career Impact: While some pilots return to flight duty within days or months, repeated ejections or severe injuries often end a pilot's career"

The Iranian President's letter to the American public seemed to be an attempt to address ordinary Americans in not believing in the rhetoric.
If they really want to show the world that they are not what the rhetoric implies, then they will show any prisoners of war mercy.
Let's hope we can believe in the truth when it is presented to us.
------------
"Islamic law provides three primary options for prisoners of war (POWs) at the discretion of the military leader: freeing them, ransoming them, exchanging them for Muslim prisoners, or enslaving them, though the killing of POWs is a subject of historical debate. Men, women, and children may all be taken as prisoners under traditional interpretations, but women and children cannot be killed under any circumstances.
Upon capture, prisoners must be guarded, fed, clothed, and treated with dignity, a principle supported by Quran 76:8 which urges feeding captives despite the captors' own needs. Separating prisoners from their relatives is prohibited, and they may not be tortured, mutilated, or forced to convert to Islam. While classical jurists historically debated the permissibility of execution for specific crimes or in certain contexts, modern interpretations and international treaties like the Third Geneva Convention (GCIII) emphasize that Islamic law should be interpreted as outlawing the killing of POWs to align with the core principle of humane treatment. ‼️ Iran's official media outlet IRIB has appealed to local tribes in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province to assist in locating the pilots of a U.S. F-15 fighter jet, with a bounty offered for capturing them alive.
That is horrifying! May God protect that flight crew!

And there was no new deal under Trump one of Trump 2.
We just waived oil sanction on Iran too BTW, and they have a new revenue stream with Hormuz fees.
What looks worse to me is soldiers dying and hundreds of billions already on the board to be spent. Trump said we destroyed their nuclear program in the summer, so what are we doing there? Destroying their navy and Air Force? Those were outdated, and I don’t recall anyone saying they could project with either.
