What people should understand is that all countries have populations split into political factions

Not all Americans approve of the current administration 
Some of us think they're criminal 
Not all Isralies approve of their government, either
They see the corruption and want justice 
Just like there's a faction of Iranians who want justice against their evil regime

I tend to stand in agreement with the people throughout who see through their leaders' bullshit and stand against it

Rather than fall in lock step with the propaganda and indoctrination

Our troops can come in peace and help keep the peace, 
or they can come in and mop up the joint with 'phasers on kill'.
How they come in is up to the people there.
In Irans case, the leaders are begging for the phasers on kill style.

Increase Israels status as a superpower?   Sure.   
All the nuclear countries would like that for themselves.
But no way in hell is anyone trying to make the Israeli map look like the 'greater Israel' map.
Not possible.

I’m sure the military planned for it.  It’s probably the commander in chief who ignored the plans.  He always thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room even though he rarely is.

I still think the overarching goal of this conflict is to collapse the old system 
They want to concentrate energy and resources into AI, tech, robotics, etc...
It's very costly to keep propping up the legacy system as they work to develop the new one

If Netanyahu intends Israel to be a superpower in the new system, he will have to attain AI supremacy 
So I can see how land & resource grabs would fit in with his strategy and goals
