Trump says he bombed Iran
(03-07-2026, 10:42 AM)cherokeetroy Wrote:  if countries in the region do not cooperate with Washington, Iran will not attack them.

The Gulf countries have US bases in them.
They ARE cooperating by having them there.
That means Iran will keep attacking those countries.
Iran has been attacking civilian infrastructure and buildings.
The Gulf countries need to declare war against Iran.

Our leadership isn't calling it that.
And the vast majority of Americans aren't calling it t hat.
You  might find some idiot fundamentalists in the deep south saying it.
But any that are don't understand the bible.
Iran isn't a player in the 'end times prophecies' of Christianity.

Maybe for the Iranian leadership and those in Iran that buy what they are selling (some do and some don't).   But for the Western World it's a war against nutbag aggressors who have promised death to Western civilization.   Nothing religious about it from our end.
Trump now wants to increase the military budget to 1.5 Trillion, a jump of 50%.

Tariffs haven’t even brought in 500b since the start. So we’re to increase spending while we have a record deficit.

All this from the guy who wanted to reduce debt and no regime change wars. He has the record for debt of any president, and we’re engaged in our biggest direct conflict since Iraq.

And people will say with a straight face he’s the best option for our country.

They may not be out right saying it but....

Quote:He also said he foresaw another miracle – the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple on the site of what is now the Haram al Sharif in Jerusalem – a sacred site in Islam.
This, in the tradition of Christian end-times belief, is an essential part of the return of Christ.
In Judaism, it is part of the preconditions required for the first coming of "the messiah”, and both are to be underpinned by the in-gathering of all Jews to modern-day Israel ahead of “the rapture”, when the righteous can ascend into heaven.

There is sound politics behind pushing the end times philosophy in America. Some 39 per cent of Americans, and 47 per cent of evangelical protestants, believe that we are living through “the end of times”, according to a 2022 survey by the Pew Institute.
Two-thirds of evangelicals believe that Trump’s election was part of a divine plan.

Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Jerusalem who is an evangelical Christian, believes God gave Jews the “deeds” to Israel, and when asked if Netanyahu should extend Israel’s borders to the Euphrates, said: “If they decided to take it all, it would be fine with me.”
This makes little sense to most Europeans, who enjoy Hollywood's vampires and demons on TV but know that they’re myths – not reality.
And among Iran’s regime leaders, a belief that the country has been creating the necessary preconditions for the revelation of the hidden Mahdi (messiah) is central to their temporal claims to power and part of the Iranian constitution.
The role of the supreme leader in Iran is to prepare for the emergence of the Mahdi.
Preconditions for this will be the sinking of an army being led against the just – which may explain why Tehran has ruled out ceasefire talks.
It may sound mad – but this is reality in the corridors of power in Washington and in the bunkers where the ayatollahs hide today.

Quote:As war between the US, Israel and Iran intensifies, some biblical scholars and Christian commentators are warning that ancient prophecies about the end of the world may be unfolding in real time.
Following the strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, several faith-based commentators pointed to passages in the New Testament and Hebrew scriptures that they say foreshadow the escalating conflict.

According to a quote from Jesus in Matthew 24:6-7 in the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible: 'You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.'
Another passage cited by commentators points to Ezekiel 38:5, which refers to 'Persia,' widely understood to correspond to modern-day Iran, as part of a prophetic coalition that will rise against Israel in the so-called 'latter days.'
'Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets,' the prophecy reads in part.
The new interpretations come as the same podcast, Living Waters, warned that two major biblical verses appeared to be coming true in June last year, with both predicting turmoil in the Middle East.
The first of these apocalyptic prophecies revolved around 1 Thessalonians 5:3, written by the Apostle Paul, which warned that, 'While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly.'
The second sign involved the nearby country of Syria and the prophet Isaiah, who said, 'Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins.'.....

Biblical scholars from the Living Waters podcast, which has more than 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube, suggested that events in both Iran and Syria, which both occurred on June 22, 2025, paralleled the verses that foretold the end times for humanity striking unexpectedly.
The verse in 1 Thessalonians, where Paul discussed the 'day of the Lord,' is a biblical concept referring to a future time of divine judgment and intervention.
Paul emphasized its suddenness and unpredictability, urging believers to stay vigilant and faithful.
Many scholars and theologians have believed this verse is directly related to the End Times prophecy.
The 'day of the Lord' is a recurring theme in both the Old and New Testaments, often associated with the Second Coming of Christ, final judgment, or apocalyptic events.
The mention of sudden destruction amid claims of 'peace and safety' suggests a false sense of security before catastrophic events, which aligns with descriptions of the end times in other scriptures.

As you can see with have members here who believe it, as do many evangelicals who support Trump.

Iran is going through their biggest water crisis. They've had to put moving the capital on the decision board.

I'm sure their government did very little to effectively help them out. And they did spend a large amount of money on the military while the people suffered...

But I don't see how going after targets that will have a direct impact on one of the largest cities on earth is going to win hearts and minds. Afterall, we were doing this for the Iranian people right? So they could be free. I guess limiting water is a way to be free.
"How long Gulf states can survive if the Strait of Hormuz stays closed?

JPMorgan analysis: If Hormuz stays shut, storage runs out in:

Iraq: 6 days
Kuwait: 14 days
UAE: 16-19 days
Qatar: 20 days
Saudi Arabia: 36-65 days (depending on re-routing)

Kuwait just announced they're cutting oil production and refining "citing risks linked to Iran and threats to shipping through Hormuz."

In other words: We can't export, so we're stopping production before storage fills completely and we have nowhere to put it.

Saudi Arabia can last longest because they've got pipelines bypassing the Strait. UAE and Saudi can partially re-route.

Everyone else is trapped.

The global oil market's watching this in real-time. Every day Hormuz stays closed, more producers hit capacity limits and cut output. European gas already spiked 22%. Gold hit $5500. Now Kuwait's the first to officially reduce production because of storage constraints.

The timeline's active.

Gulf states are making crisis decisions based on how many days until they physically can't produce anymore.

I always thought the principle behind damaging a population was to break the peoples' 'will to continue waging war.'

But in the case of the people of Iran... I suspect it isn't "the people's will" that matters...

They are 'told" of Satan's minions in the West, and the glory of death and pain delivered to them.

It's the leadership that requires 'reeducation.'

Iran's leadership sees the deprivation and suffering of their people as a religious sacrifice...
they praise it... so they don't want to end it... this indulgence of theirs is self-serving in a very narrow way.
The suffering of their people elevates the 'glory and wholesomeness' on behalf of the government's virtue.  When their people die of starvation or thirst... it's a glorious sacrifice of martyrs...
to them.

Our damaging these people is a throwback to 20th century warfare... examples abound.

Iranian citizens don't really need (or want) to be pummeled... they need to shed the garbage they call 'national leadership' and accept that even if the world is God's own... they may not 'seize it' as a pet.

To that end... would it be a 'lurid supposition' to wonder about purposefully damaging infrastructure so you can blame your enemy for the suffering they themselves cause?
I know that's a terrible thing...
so I'm not suggesting it as real...
just affirming that my experience has led me to have that nasty thought rolling around in my head...
