Trump says he bombed Iran

That's standard warfare.
Take away the leadership and the troops have no one to give orders or to follow.
They surrender quicker.   Less of them get killed that way too.

Unfortunately, that's not how these organisations are structured.

They have think tanks of sorts that consider every possibility and prepare for every eventuality.

Eventually, the power vacuum will close.

And what will remain is apt to hate even more and be dedicated to retribution.

We are back to the hydra analogy.

It's not standard in all wars to kill leaders, but targeting enemy commanders in combat is indeed a recognised military tactic.

Silly to argue otherwise.

Where it will lead all the same, the remains to be seen.
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

De Baathification is cited as one of the core reasons we couldn’t create an effective government in Iraq.

Hell, that was a big campaign point for Trump “no regime change wars”.

Hegseth further expanded on that last year by saying our directive wouldn’t be to nation build.

That was the popular consensus of the American people. We were tired of playing world police and getting sucked into that sort of thing.

Hell, Iran was arguably the first time the CIA did it in the 50’s, where did that get us? Here.

That's why this isn't about regime change (picked by the CIA).

We just keep blowing up the radical mullahs the current leaders want until the Iranian people are able to select one for themselves.

With how weak they’ve looked as a regime the last few months, it sounds like it could work.

But people forget one of the few things that can unify a country when nothing else can is an external threat. If it doesn’t work and we keep bombing them, is it possible Iranians unify to counter Israel and the US?

Id say yes.

This is going to be a colossal quagmire, going on for years..likely. Every time they do this, it's what happens.

After so many years of oppression by fanatics that didn't have a grasp of the concept of time, the inexorable march of knowledge has reached the people the mullahs kept under boot.

I believe, especially if these strikes are carried out with deliberate care to minimize civilian harm, the People will not be stopped from moving into moderninity.

I think in a couple of years everyone will be talking about how they were against it all along, just like with Iraq.

The difference will be Congress didn’t vote on this one, so it will be harder to hold them accountable for a vote that never happened.

Uh you mean like for the last 47 years...

so yeah lets roll the dice and see what happens it will likely be Reza Pahlavi.

As long as the IRG doesn't ride around shooting everybody, there is no large support for the religious clerics anymore.

Kurds must be taken care of and be content, as their candidate isn't quite as solid as Pahlavi. We must remember Pahlavi will just be a nominal head till they can have safe and secure DEMOCRATIC elections or at least thats the plan.

Im not even sure he will be a final candidate, he wanted to be a transitional leader

We, the people of Iran, believe that Reza Pahlavi is the only legitimate option for leading the transitional period in Iran. We do not accept the reformists, the MEK, separatist movements, or any other alternative. Our choice for Iran’s future is clear and united

Considering how the radical mullahs killed about 40,000 Iranians in the past few months alone, they cant eliminate enough of them from the gene pool.

Seeing Sara Ebrahimi getting beaten and murdered by these backwards azzholes... it was well past time

Rudaw reports that Trump has also spoken with several Iranian Kurdish groups, likely with a view to using them as boots on the ground. Note, the five-party Iranian Kurdish coalition was announced only days ago.

Why would they pick Reza Pahlavi?
