I think an argument could be made that sending more aid to the Middle East than any other region ever is anti American. I think it could also be debated that keeping it as our largest foreign policy and military footing is anti American.

In hindsight, I don't think people who argued against a war in Iraq were anti American.

Just because you disagree with policy doesn't mean you are against or hate America, especially if you are American. More often I view the call to patriotism/nationalism as a trope to goad people into supporting a war. It's like when they say you don't support our troops if you are against a war. How does that work? Someone not wanting to risk the lives of our troops for a region that doesn't buy our goods, help us in our wars is against the troops? How is that?

To me, it's just hyperbole and buzz words to guilt people in their world view. Part of being American is having free speech, just because someone doesn't agree with a view doesn't make them less patriotic. Sure, there are some people who are anti America or hate America, but you can't just blanket that statement because they are anti war. Trump ran on no new wars, no regime change, and America First.
