You mean like the Islamic invasion of Europe?  Eureka

Muslims first invaded Europe in 711 AD, when an army of Arabs and Berbers, collectively known as Moors, landed on the Iberian Peninsula (modern Spain and Portugal) from North Africa, led by Tariq ibn Ziyad. This invasion marked the beginning of the Umayyad conquest of Hispania, which led to the establishment of Al-Andalus.
  • Previous Threats: Earlier, in 668, there was an abortive attempt to attack Constantinople, but the invasion of the Iberian Peninsula is considered the first permanent entry into Western Europe.
  • Key Date: April 30, 711, Tariq landed at Gibraltar (named after him, Jabal al-Tariq) with approximately 7,000 troops.
  • Key Battle: The Battle of Guadalete (711) saw the defeat of the Visigothic King Roderick, which accelerated the collapse of the Visigothic Kingdom.
  • Extension: Within seven years, most of the Iberian Peninsula was conquered, with the invaders crossing into modern-day France in the 720s.

This comparison is misleading.

The Umayyad conquest of spain was medieval territorial expansion, not ideological containment.

And the Vietnam War was a modern proxy war about political systems.

The conflict was shaped by Cold War geopolitics, not simple "invasion."

The war was driven by 20th-century ideology, decolonisation, and superpower rivalry.

So completely different contexts, motives, and outcomes i may add...
"Yet so it is, we see the illiterate bulk of mankind that walk the high-road of plain common sense, and are governed by the dictates of nature, for the most part easy and undisturbed. To them nothing that is familiar appears unaccountable or difficult to comprehend."

That’s a ways back — but thanks — very interesting.

I remember comments from the Russians about Iraq. Basically they couldn’t conquer the culture.

Advise was given to America — start at the ground and work up. You will never win from the top down.

And now what name do you give the modern invasion?  This time they just walked in. And no one has the common sense to stop it.

All moderator info is gone.
Look at their profiles.
All are 'former staff' or 'suspended'.
Except Andy06Shake who is now a supermod.
That's the only one I saw still as an active moderator.
I am no longer listed as 'former staff'.
I imagine the other former staff from ATS have the same thing.
Started a thread on this asking ... it was trashcanned.

FALSE.

Eligible men, ages 18 -25 will automatically be registered for the draft. In case you missed it, it's been the norm for males to register when they turn 18 and has been that way for decades. This just does it automatically.

Are you unintentionally spreading dis information, did you not read the article or did you know it was a lie and ran with it anyway ?

Ever hear the old saying, "If you bomb them, they will come."

Somewhat of a difference between modern migration and invasion, knows.

Da fuq ?

I don't normally pay attention to all that stuff, but it sounds like there's someone who's cleaning house and that REALLY makes me curious.

Creating discussion.

Currently all men have to register after age 18.

Now they will automatically be registered.

Precursor to mandatory draft (possibly).
