I did. I saw a different interview he did back in 1986'ish just last week, and he was specifically talking about the Straits of Hormuz and how Iran had (and still has) a choke hold on world supplies. 
I can't find the interview, but I did find this article about an advert Trump paid $94,801 across 3 American newspapers in 1987. It includes the advert which was in the form of a letter. I don't know how to upload the image of his advert.
