When I said "we are talking about stopping a war," I meant you, I, and the rest of the thread participants...
Or was that too presumptuous?
Is there an argument I missed for continued war?

Yeah, I don't understand your point, still. Are you claiming we the members here on this thread are at war with each other about this topic? Because I don't see it that way.
The only parties that can stop this war are Ukraine and Russia, unless the U.S. puts boots on the ground with robotics and drones there, or air power, then that's a whole other thing we can discuss.
I thought I heard rumblings for boots on the ground from the White House because Putin is pissing Trump off... a lot. No? Yes? Donating military weapons to Ukraine and imposing sanctions on Russia just don't seem to be doing the trick.

Not expecting much here at all.
Supposedly Witikoff mistranslated, oh well...
typical Russian negotiation tactics mostly stalling.
Trump needs to go through the motions with Putin.
Tell the UK and EU members to buy US weapons, supply Ukraine, and increase the sanctions, including India.

I'd be more inclined to pivot westward, against NATO

Does it mean much if there is still European countries buying Russian energy?

Dude, you are 5 days behind a 5 dollars short....
I posted exactly about that in the Alaska summit thread yesterday, #1 and have been banging that drum since ATS.
I'll find the quote if you would like?

Pretty sure Trump has pointed this out to them...
IF Europe wants to weaken Putin quit sucking on his oil/and natural gas teets
It's the literal definition of burning the candle at both ends
Ive even have contemporary memes to the SMO that validate my claims... [Image: https://denyignorance.com/images/ogsmilies/lol.gif]

Putin in nightcap and gown
Quote:Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Laura Ingraham that after his discussions with Zelensky and a host of European leaders on Monday, Trump wanted to call Putin to organize a meeting with the Ukrainian president.
Putin told Trump he was about to go to bed and if he couldn’t call him right away he could contact him the next day instead. Quote:“Look, it was very late in Moscow,” Bessent explained on Fox’s The Ingraham Angle. “President Putin was open to meeting with President Zelensky and as you know President Trump is very persuasive, they had just met.”
On Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that during his pre-bedtime phone call with Trump, Putin agreed to “begin the next phase of the peace process—a meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky.“
In an interview on Tuesday night, Trump said he wanted Putin and Zelensky to meet on their own first to clear the air.

The way the media is so hypercritical, hyperparanoid of every minute detail of every move Trump's administration makes, and SAID nothing while the Biden administration sat happily with thier thumbs up thier asses while sending blank checks to Zelenskyy.

Indeed. It is actually more valuable in my opinion, to read the news on DI, as it is filtered here, because a large part of the bias-icing and attempted-slant are filtered away by who posts it and what quotes they choose to select; as we here are GENERALLY more about info and facts than pushing narratives. Pick the wheat from the chaff.
The MSM largely takes pro-activeness on Trump's part and excitement to get things done, and tries to spin it into something negative, which blows me mind.
Whether it be 'Putin whore' or 'narcissistic' or 'despotic ruler'
I will be flabbergasted if the two kids, Z and P can actually sit down and talk first without needing a T as a mediator or the like.
