This is a genius deal, I swear; giving Russia everything it wants and demanding nothing in return. I could make such a deal myself with anyone who would put a gun to my head. Trump's total appeasement of Russia probably comes from his desire to get Putin's support against China. In his arrogance, he believes he can outwit the Kremlin dictator. But this is not likely to happen.

Neither is Russia going to accept the presence of the foreign troops in the Western Ukraine. Even if these are not American soldiers, but European ones, I don't see it happening. Another thing is that, considering Trump's confrontational attitude to Europe, European countries might simply not agree to send their soldiers there. Whatever their decision, Russia will never agree to that. Why should it if it demanded the complete demilitarization of Ukraine and significant reduction of the Ukrainian army? Only to welcome the foreign army with open arms. It doesn't make sense at all.

This is going to be another Afghanistan. Anyway, with Americans making helpless fools of themselves, it's time for Europe to look for another pimp who will pamper it and guarantee its security. What about China?

The scary part is what's not said. The tone is almost like Trump is proud to be able to talk to Putin as equals and reflect on the great history of the countries they both lead.

I think you give Trump to much credit for tact and not enough doubt for his fanboy-like admiration of Putin. The tone speaks of a desire to be seen as equals of Putin and work like common sense partners to chop up eastern Ukraine. Mariupol, Russia. Sounds right enough.

Can it drive a spike in Russia-China relations to appease Russia? Or do they still talk about Trump behind his back about the best way to exploit his admiration of them to their advantage?

I will try to explain once more. Imagine an American settlement- province in Mexico close to US boarder. Mexicans with the help of China and Russia aiming at US start to shell for 8 years those regions provoking US to respond. Elections did not include those regions when Poroshenko came into power. What US would do to save dear americans who have happened to be born and raised in those regions? The answer is simple. US would obliterate Mexico.

I have followed this invasion from the start and Putin can't go back in time and get land back - that's like saying Poland can invade Ukraine to get back the land that was taken during WWII (not taken by Ukrainians). If you bother to dig deeper the truth is that Russia needs more people (working slaves) to extract resources and the only way to do that is to conquer other lands/peoples and integrated them, or rather reprogram them to the Russian mindset (blind obedient slaves) as they were trying to do with Ukrainian children that were orphaned or misplaced.

Let's not forget Putin requires more cannon fodder for world domination as it appears the North Korean troops aren't working out quite as planned.
