Good question. I buy a PS5 game from you for $100. Later, you buy a 3D printer from me for $1000. That's a huge trade deficit and not equal, but I got what I wanted for the cost I was comfortable with and so did you. Is this equal trade per needs and wants or unequal trade because you received 1k and in order to be equal, I have to buy $900 in stuff from you to be equalized?

Depends on your definition of equal trade?

What I guess what Trump means can be unfair in many cases if your tariffs are lower than the country importing to you has, that causes a bigger deficit than if there wouldnt be tariffs or equal % on the same goods.
Another example would be if the other countries government is subsidizing a market so they can produce with lower prizes which creates unequal competition and also can have a bigger trade deficit as result.

And there are probably several more examples. I dont think there is a simple analogy for this, simplifying it can be quite misleading.

I have no reason to doubt this. Market manpulation is why they are "venerated."

I made no such assumption.

I have no objection to accepting a danger of abuse exists.

Affluence shouldn't make anyone "suspect." That's seems biased.

And frankly, I can't attest to how Trump "thinks of himself."

What is it about Trump that make people think he is above all the things we "know" other rich people do? I certainly wouldn't call him perfect, and I think we all agree he is a "stretcher of truth" or "great story teller" but not someone we can wholly trust.

The few who might think these things are zealot partisan activists...

As I have said to my European friends, just because we are not freaking out like the media in Europe does, it doesn't mean we don't know, aren't watching... still openly discussing what we see...

Are we back to Trump's crashing the economy to cause war with China so he can declare martial law and remain President forever while he is getting memberships from heads of state for giving him lower tariffs

now that the market is down, doesn't that mean that the only way Trump and his evil minions made money was if they bought and sold stocks like some penny stock day trader?

If I had multiple billions of dollars, S&P and Dow would probably feel exactly like that. Penny stocks. Play time. Consolidation of wealth. The goal being to get all the worlds assets into the hands of a few. You could say it kinda sounds like a conspiracy theory that's above our pay grade lol

He consistently "trolls" the left because the right eat it up and has already mentioned he may consider a third term and a state senator has already drafted a potential resolution (which means nothing). How would that happen? Well, ratification of the constitution which seems pretty far fetched. Could have JD run for a term and Trump be his VP, have JD step down and BAMN! he is president again. Could declare martial law due to the country being "over run by immigrants eating our pets and radical left terrorists burning our cities" and BAMN! he is president with no end in sight. Let's not pretend these options are just left wing fluff fever dreams. He said he knew of ways....and again, we aren't rich so we don't think like them. I guessed what he was thinking, but only he knows. I am just saying that this would be a pretty big temptation, and the fact he posted to buy stocks now right before he paused tariffs? Well, I don't believe in coincidences. Biden was Fuckin boring compared to this entertainment! 

It's like when your favorite show starts bringing in new characters that you expect to suck but actually give you something to laugh at!

Apparently not as likely as market manipulation   Trump had no problem letting the media know his buddy Schwab made 900mil off that little stock whoopsy. A couple of his other friends won bigly as well. Harder to deny it when he is literally touting the successes. The left will scream about it and the right will laugh because he can literally do anything he wants regardless of the legality or morality of screwing over millions of Americans to make a buck. Sleepy Joe made a couple mil from Ukraine, Trump made a billion by manipulating the stock market.
