And wait for it to get out that his tariffs indirectly target minority populations by attacking their cost of living. And that doesn't even get into how markets naturally respond to tariffs, and that is to raise prices on domestic merchandise because there is money to be had. Unless you think American merchandisers are giving Thailand prices?

C'mon. Who cares about the poor? They will be raptured before the economic recession hits. And those who stay will inherit the earth. Which probably means most people on earth will become poor.

Anyway, people on Musk's platform do not share your anxiety. I read the comments and most of them can be summed up with one sentence:

In my mind it's a reciprocal tariff for having to listen to 4 years of people mentally fapping over George Soros... and Nancy Pelosi... and Newsom... and California.... and Maxists... and memetic 'clown worlds'... and NWOs... TDS has two equally valid variants that could still yet act like two standing waves.

Trump Derangement Syndrome and Trump Denial Syndrome.

The former is reactive and finds a reason to hate him and his administration more (like me), the latter is deflective and protective. And the former's opinion is the latter will scurry through any mental obstacle course, and only listen to what conservative media says, because they've truly been brainwashed to believe everyone else but conservative media and Trump lies. In a general sense, they fully bought that Q-Anon Soros-WEF deep state BS hook line and sinker.

And now the f*cking Heritage Foundation runs this country through a quasi-Nazi puppet.

And things only seem apocalyptic to me because I am a one-world apologist that likes roads which lead towards A Federation of Planets. Something beyond being a pathetic Type 0 AUTOFAIL civilization that can't handle itself, let alone the realities of galactic politics.

You know, they allegedly like watching our Olympics, because it's the only time our planet is united, the aliens I mean. I may be an alien too, feel like one.

We discussed types of civilizations in the debate thingy thread, still think as I postulated then, perhaps humans can't advance fast enough in our limited lifespan to be anything but an autofail civilization. We retain very little from our previous generations and have to learn many of the same lessons over and over. Perhaps we are already pushing the envelope on humanity intellectually and we are already past the envelope for humanity mentally. Like rats too crowded in a cage, we claw at and bite and fight.
now because of technology not only can one rat annoy thier next-door neighbor rat but this rat can reach out and annoy rats across the pond in merry old Wiltshire Englandstan and beautiful San Diego. Collectively we can't handle the input, the outside stimuli.

Look how long it's taken for TPTB to let the JFK stuff percolate out in the open, how can anybody trust any side BTW, but we process life too slowly we can be manipulated and distracted easily, that there is a good possibility, if and when humanity advances it will be taking just a small micro fraction of the 7 billion a long for the ride. 

This brings back and make no mistake use your Obama's voice I trust no one, no side, each side just has a different hustle to enrich themselves and maintain power. Additionally, I would give my left nut to be less plugged in as it seems, it's from boredom mostly. From my 20-50s my life was full to the brim, I didn't have much room for politics. Now Im talking about the Hawley Smoot Tariff Act or other mundane political procedures every day.

Ive always liked politics though really enjoyed the book and the movie All The Presidents Men.  I think it was in there or another political history book that I latched on to the notion that additionally, we do better if we bounce from one party to another because there is a certain percentage of Americans who are non-conformists. Democrats have had the last 12 of 16 years let's see what the Republicans can do.  As for Trump and Biden and most other politicians, I just don't have the emotions about them, when you learn that most Presidents' histories and peccadillos. 

So when someone thinks Im a staunch GOP or DNC it is hilarious... My ISidewith.com profile says otherwise, but just because I post a comment or article on little old triple-digit membered Deny Ignorance to get a discussion going Im a Trumper or Trump defender and deflector. 

To bring it full circle one reason I leaned towards Trump irrespective of the awful Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, but because of RFKjr and just the feeling that my generation was robbed of having JFK for 2 terms and likely RFK after that except our pesky little triumvirate in the CIA decided differently. Angleton McNamara and Dulles Bros altered our destiny 

 I survived Dot.com and Real Estate and Banks busting COVID-19 conditions/ we have had Russia and the US in a proxy war between Israel/Gaza so the OMB 2.0 paranoid neurosis and worry just aren't on my radar. 

I preferred it when we didn't know who the Congressperson in the 16th district of New York was. We weren't supposed to be hanging on our politicians' every word and analyzing thier every action, in theory, they were supposed to do thier jobs for 1 or 2 terms and fricking disappear. 

Will tariffs work? who hell knows, depends on how many countries' leaders and thier politicians lose thier composure, I guess. We will find out soon enough. But really if any of us knew the answers to all these questions would we even be on a message board such as this?  

Hell nobody has a clue on the larger platforms either but we are going to get serious and hash it out on DI? the faux self-importance of the cause, whatever the cause is today. If I have a public neurosis, thats my neurosis LOL and your neurosis is infringing on my neurosis.  

I do appreciate the conversation though, there's no ill intent here on my part on those who think Im trumpeting Trump and not aghast with angst worry, and concern. Even with a less-than-full life, I don't have the time for that shit.

FWIW we are in the middle of our Fall Market buying season, the last 2 days of the market trade show have already exceeded last year. We normally close at 6 but we have been busy till 8-9 in the evening. An extremely good sign.
but our clientele is mostly resilient southern retailers.

Usually, our industry is like the canary in the coal mine, it reacts earlier than most about 85% of all of our goods are from China.

But for our business, it levels the playing field where before we were losing business to really Chinese knockoffs now those too will have tariffs and won't be so cheap, thus a net win for American companies

It's weird to watch a global power like America under Trump taking such a nose dive.
Attacking it's own working class with massive price increases, forcing it's allies like Japan and South Korea to make nice with China whilst wiping billions of its own stock market and effecting worldwide stock markets.
