Wonder if they will be exempt?

It's okay. I explained it to the AI, and it still didn't get it:
Quote:Aden was not founded by British bombing; it became a British colony in 1839 when British forces captured it to secure trade routes. The area later experienced significant conflict during the Aden Emergency from 1963 to 1967, which involved British military actions against nationalist insurgents.
Shrug. Just saying there's a long history there that seems to rhyme. Um, thanks?
"S#orpe" was a bit obscure, I'll admit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scunthorpe_problem

Just watched Trump announcing new tariffs.
Jaw dropping.
Let's see how all the MAGA maniacs rush to cheer this utter bollox.
Oh, America, is this what has become of you?
I guess you get the President that you deserve.
So richly, so richly.

Such a sad thing to say...
As if your leaders are you, as if our leaders are us...
But "What we deserve" is whatever the speaker wants it to be, yes?
The commercial world and it's confidence game and casino market are aflame with uncertainty...
The media reports "panic."
May I presume you agree?

No. Not panicking, just saddened. I'm not told what to do by the media.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that... only that much of the media is consistently reporting this "Trump tariff" matter as a critical crisis situation...
but apparently from the US perspective, it is not.... it's business... and we're putting an end to everything that looks like 'entitlement-style' international trade deals.
We're contemporary you and I... admittedly displaced.

Indeed
but the UK US balance of trade is pretty much equal. So why are we being punished for supposedly ripping off the US?
It's like a declaration of hostilities against the rest of the World by a serial liar with the grasp of international trade and economics of a particularly thick twelve year old.
As a result, we could all be heading into a recession.
The law of unintended consequences and stuff.
We aren't displaced. We both live in the same World.
Sadly, it seems to be Trump World.
