Trump Neurosis Thread
Frankly, the answer to that question (why) is - from me at least - I don't know.

Perhaps it's meant to play a pressure game for some unspoken bargaining point, like a metaphorical quid to apply to a secret pro quo...

But clearly that's only a guess... these are truly professional negotiators at work... the media narrative is guaranteed to be at best, incomplete.

I suspect the Bank is more germane to controlling monetary policy and controlling the inflation/recession cycles of profit-taking... but admittedly, trade is the business of all who invest, no?

Yes. But you seem to be parroting MAGA stuff?

Without any critical thinking?

Holy crap!...

Seems like some of those tariff percentages are a quite literal DEMAND to negotiate a new deal.

Or would that manner of critical suggestion be counter to a narrative of media-hyperbolic characterization?

Forget the media. Just look at the fiscal reality of what this idiot is doing.

Hyperbole not necessary.

1. Pissing on and insulting long time allies.

2. Threatening Greenland and Denmark.

3. Talking a bout a third term in office.

4. Having a Nazi saluting idiot in charge of stuff.

5. Selling Tesla's on the White House lawn.

6. Vance. Calling the UK a random country that hasn't fought a war in 30 years. Hello? We lost 637 folk fighting with you in Afghan, not to mention our maimed and wounded.

7. Cosying up to Putin like a traitor.

8. Everything else that comes out of his oddly anus shaped gob?

And yes, I have TDS. Because, I think he truly is, deranged.

I have no idea if this will be the result BUT

If this somehow eliminates taxes in even 5-10 years it's worth the rest of the world being aghast for a little while.

The reason Trump is calling today “Liberation Day”, is because if Trump’s tariff economic plan is successful, income taxes will be no more, and the American People will no longer be tax slaves to a corrupt system. Today will be known as the day that ended our economic slavery. If Trump’s plan is successful, and tariffs replace income tax, the quality of life for the American People will be significantly better, and we will no longer be indentured servants to a corrupt machine. No longer will our labor be taxed to fund war and destruction around the globe. No longer will our labor be taxed just for the corrupt ruling class to line their pockets off of our suffering. We are currently slaves to the IRS, and Trump’s tariff economic plan is trying to end that. That’s why, if Trump’s plan works, today will be known as “Liberation Day”. Trump is trying to get rid of income tax.

Just posting for the discussion no need to be aghast by the new tariffs... besides didn't you see he put the word discounted by them, does that not help with your anxiety levels?

But more importantly why care? if Trump is wrong and this fails America have new leadership in 4 years FFS, LOL maybe 2 and he loses the majority at mid-terms

Isn't that what the whole frightened anxious whinging weepy world wants?

Hell, we get 80-85% of our goods from China, so for the immediate future, the companies we represent prices will go up in anticipation of prices rising on fall deliveries. It's not the first time and the industry always adjusts, we are fortunate we have products at a variety of cost levels.

Such bombastic, and blustery adjectives and convictions, are similar to the bombastic and blustery adjectives and convictions that predicted Russia would lose to Ukraine if we just outspend them in 2-3 years.

We shall see...wont we

And yes, I have TDS. Because, I think he truly is, deranged.

Be proud of it. I am. In my mind it's a reciprocal tariff for having to listen to 4 years of people mentally fapping over George Soros... and Nancy Pelosi... and Newsom... and California.... and Maxists... and memetic 'clown worlds'... and NWOs... And woke.... and stolen elections... and unfairly persecuted felons... and so on and so forth.... but it's not called neurosis when they do it, oh heavens dear me no, it is called "a great awakening".

But your list... that's also pretty much my list.

TDS has two equally valid variants that could still yet act like two standing waves.

Trump Derangement Syndrome and Trump Denial Syndrome.

The former is reactive and finds a reason to hate him and his administration more (like me), the latter is deflective and protective. And the former's opinion is the latter will scurry through any mental obstacle course, and only listen to what conservative media says, because they've truly been brainwashed to believe everyone else but conservative media and Trump lies. In a general sense, they fully bought that Q-Anon Soros-WEF deep state BS hook line and sinker.

And now the f*cking Heritage Foundation runs this country through a quasi-fascist puppet. Or at least through unchecked executive privilege.

And things only seem apocalyptic to me because I am a one-world apologist that likes roads which lead towards A Federation of Planets. Something beyond being a pathetic Type 0 AUTOFAIL civilization that can't handle itself, let alone the realities of galactic politics.

You know, they allegedly like watching our Olympics, because it's the only time our planet is united, the aliens I mean. I may be an alien too, feel like one.

And I'd like to be abducted before Trump fulfills Nostradamus' 3rd Antichrist prophecy..

And that ends this edition of my Trump neurosis with alternative music.

I want to get to this one too.

While this seems very fair. 10% to 48% seems fair. No one can really complain because in most cases it's halved to theirs. So it's appearance is as fair.

But Walmart shoppers, and the ones most affected by increased prices are gonna be pissed. And it's not all democrats shopping there.

So 34%? Anywhere from 60 to 80% of Walmart's merchandise is imported from China. Almost all the affordable clothes and shoes for welfare kids are imported. Add in Indonesia, India, and highly tariffed southeast asia, and you have above 90% of what they sell as now inflated by tariff costs. 90% of what poor people buy. They never mattered. And wait for it to get out that his tariffs indirectly target minority populations by attacking their cost of living. And that doesn't even get into how markets naturally respond to tariffs, and that is to raise prices on domestic merchandise because there is money to be had. Unless you think American merchandisers are giving Thailand prices?

Doesn't hurt billionaires like Trump and Musk. The 10% his administration is tailored for. Just a large portion of those who voted for him.

But I feel Trump Denial Syndome is such that even a price increase in excess of the inflation experienced under Biden will not be an issue for MAGA. They'll be paying more, but he would never get called the worst president ever for it. The price increases they complained endlessly about under Biden will be brushed aside.

Unless he gives everyone a lateral move by reducing their income tax. I'm betting Reaganomics on steroids, like two brackets of 10% and 25%. There needs to be something, because if it's like his last tax plan, the poorest will be hurt most.
