Quote:On the night of March 13 into the early morning of March 14, 2025, a total lunar eclipse, known as a 'Blood Moon' due to its red appearance, will be visible across North and South America, and parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. This event occurs when Earth positions itself between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on the Moon which reflects sunlight through Earth's atmosphere, giving it a reddish hue. The eclipse will start with a penumbral phase at 11:57 PM, followed by a partial eclipse at 1:09 AM, and will reach totality at 2:26 AM, peaking at 2:58 AM. Many are excited to observe this celestial event, with some planning to stay up or wake early. Discussions around this event include cultural and mystical interpretations, with some viewing it as a time for personal reflection or change. The visibility of this Blood Moon has sparked interest across various communities, encouraging people to look up and witness this rare astronomical phenomenon.

It should be an amazing eclipse -- for those people who value nature and wonder over sleep.   I am one of those people, and in fact, as most elderly people will attest -- 3:00 (the peak) is that wonder hour when most of us are inexplicably awake, staring at nothing, wondering what it's all about.   Well, tonight, we all have a MISSION!!  weeeeeeee!   I havent used  my SLR for months, so the battery is charging and I found all the accoutrements to its optimal usage.  Can't find the camera base which connects to the camera.   No idea why I would have put it anyplace other than the camera bag.  Won't get better with age.   Got a couple of beers chilling, because that's the way I roll when I have a 3:00 mission.   Got bug juice on the table, ready to deploy.

Happy viewing everybody!
