Why the story exists in the bible IS the entire point for Christianity. Did, or did not, God come down from Heaven and rescue 8 people while destroying all of civilization in order to stop sin? The literalists say yes. Most Christians say no, it's an allegory. When dealing with 'what did God do or not do' ... it's pretty important to get it right when you claim something.

Lets have some flood with AI...
AI Overview
The flood is mentioned approximately 70 times in various Bible translations, though some sources cite lower numbers for the singular form "flood". Including variations like "floods" increases the count to over 100. These references span the Bible, from the initial story in Genesis to mentions in the Gospels and Epistles.
That's a lot of mentions for something that didn't happen, lol.

That’s actually the problem with the modern lens — we keep trying to force everything into “literal” or “fake,” when the text itself was never written to fit either of those boxes. The story of the flood isn’t just about God playing exterminator; it’s about corruption, renewal, and covenant — themes that carry all the way through to Christ.
Whether you think it was global or regional, the point isn’t geography. It’s the moral truth that when humanity collapses into chaos, God steps in to restore order — sometimes through judgment, sometimes through mercy.
If someone only reads the story as an engineering report or a weather event, they’ve already missed why it’s in Scripture to begin with. The flood isn’t about boat design. It’s about the nature of sin, the cost of rebellion, and the promise of redemption.

You should always listen to the woman.
You don't need to agree, or do as they say.
But 9 times out of 10.
They tend to make a modicum of sense.
It's prudent, you see, and also somewhat chivalrous.

Absolutely right, didnt say my old man was wise and worth listening to
I took away from what he said, not everyone who talks is worth listening to
I find people who rant crazy at others, bit tainted in the head.

In other words, it's a pervasive engineering report across many cultures that has been co-opted to promote religious purposes. It's like pointing out a beautiful sunset and claiming God did that for us to demonstrate beauty.
Everything hurts and I'm tired.

The world was mentioned as 'flat' for thousands of years in many sources,
but that didn't change reality and make the world flat.
Muhammads 'flight' is mentioned a lot in many sources and is believed
by billions of people to be true, but in reality it's fiction and no matter
how many people think it's true, it doesn't change the fact that it never
happened.

Your self admitted willful ignorance on the other hand ... not so rational.

And the text says it collected 'all kinds' of animals which doesn't work because it would have to have been 'all species' in order to have the animal diversity we have today. I posted 7 youtube videos a couple of pages back. Each about 20 minutes long. I suggest you watch them and educate yourself.
Start with this one - Archeology disproves Noahs Flood
Geology disproves Noahs Flood
Paleontology disproves Noahs Flood
Dendrochronology disproves Noahs Flood
Meteorology disproves Noahs Flood
Anthropology disproves Noahs Flood
Mythology disproves Noahs Flood
You are suggesting that people, thousands of years before Pythagoras and Copernicus, had the relatively recent concept that the Earth is a planet, and that similarly they had concepts of species, thousands of years before Mendel had observed and theorized about the rules of genetic inheritance,?
Because if they actually wrote such things compliant with our modern understandings and with those specific meanings, then they must have understood those concepts well before the rest of the human race.
The truth is that they they did not have those understandings, nor did they even have the language to express such concepts. So, what they would have been more likely to have been saying would be entirely compliant with how things directly and observationally appeared to them via their senses.
So, to interpret what they wrote in terms of modern understandings is provably a misinterpretation of the text.
If you had actually put some thought behind things, you would see that rationally, the authors could not have even expressed things in the way that you are interpreting things.

To Armap for some reason my quote function is not working?
I worked construction for decades, I seen things that were very quickly covered up that were many many many stories deep , I climbed this crane late in the am and smoked a joint at the very top of it when it was situated in the oil rig yard I worked at , takes a lot to scare me dude , plus I am barred from abseiling in the UK after some of my antics on monuments? ? .
As to the falsification of history and the time lines read some Sir Isack Newton , Velikovsky , or Formenko to name a few .
That old saying about leading a horse to water comes to mind
Never argue with a idiot as you will get dragged down to his level and beaten with his vast experience
