It doesn't seem as much to be a theological argument requiring justification as a statement of faith, testimony that asks "is this not self-evident?".

I do believe that the truth of scripture must become tested in each individual human heart, lest the law become reduced to a self-referential framework of rules and declarations justifying, in the end, only the authorities interpreting them.
