I own the book and film and I think I prefer the film.  Cuz it's one of those rare films that are almost identical.... as the narration IS the book.
Maybe I am a closet Fight Club member !

I've been trying to read up on Fascism to see if it can be defined enough to be debated.

I even Googled "Fascism for Dummies".

The best read was "Trump Fascism".

There is such a thing as debating without competition, but cooperation... for the sake of an end product...
(like a thread... or think... an article.)  It used to happen all the time in news rooms back in the 1940's and 50's.... but no more.... ever.
