By what metric?
Trade deficit went up in 2025, USD went down, manufacturing jobs went down.
How are they going to work if they haven't, and now everyone knows they were and are unconstitutional? What company would want to spend billions to come back and build to avoid tariffs that are going to be gone soon?
Oh, Trump now has the most federal debt of any president too. So how is anything working?

We have better terms in the new and adjusted trade deals ONLY because of the tariffs and tariff threats.
Do you think we got those better terms because of the benevolent generosity of those other countries or even because Trump begged them? LoL
The tariffs worked.

So each American now has all their money, and the money they earn worth 10% less now for some trade deals.
You think that is a good trade deal for the American people? Money worth less, more government debt, for some trade deals?

You’re delusional and unreasonably impossible expectations of an immediate magical fixing of decades of poor prior administrations trade policies is noted, once again.

You mean like with Canada and Mexico? Those were inked and signed by Trump.
Or do you mean a bunch of the countries that didn't even have tariffs on US goods, they got hit for having VAT tax, which is no different than sales tax.
Trump and his base keeps making huge claims, but the reality is much different.
Like I've said multiple times in this thread, and the 50 countries trade deal thread... We did need to adjust our trade and tariffs, but with a better plan and legal framework.

Sure they worked. But not really for the betterment of most Americans.

You can blame the 43 day government shutdown for that.
Even goldfish brains remember it.
Nice try.

There have been other govt 'shutups' before. One even during Trump's previous term. They did so much for the economy, LOL.
But there will always be something happening that Trump could blame his failures on... LOL. Trump can never own the fallout from his ignorance and misunderstandings.
Despite a hundred billion coming in from the tariffs, just the threat of them wiped trillions from the stock markets (all of them). That's a further loss to the overall economy and after the shutdown happened.
Stock markets suffer worst losses since pandemic following Trump tariff plans
You aren't going to get that money back. It'll be as vapourware as Mexico paying for the desert fence.
... and here we go again with further losses to the economy after his new tariffs.
Dow Jones Futures, Bitcoin Fall After Trump Hikes Global Tariff To 15%
To date, US companies have directly paid 90% of the tariffs, and they are passing it on to you, their valued customer.
90% of Trump’s tariffs are paid for by American consumers and companies, New York Fed says
You just got taxed harder by $1,000 (and rising) per year.
You put all the little losses together and subtract them from the meagre wins and you'll soon be selling your liberty because they will have taken more than you can ever hope to earn.

To address the false claim that inflation is down
A weakened dollar coupled with tarrifs, ending quantitative tightening and injecting liquidity into the economy are inflationary factors and all of these policies are being implemented
Also, for anyone anticipating a fickle market drop, the Dow is down, today because Trump is trolling Denmark & Greenland again

I think markets are also nervous that the president wit the most federal debt is about to engage Iran. Really nice of us to do the bidding of Israel, a nation we have no treaties with, and has received more aid than any other nation on earth, and only in a brief time.
