This isn't Europe.
We don't have walk across borders.
3,000 miles from sea to sea.
All America.
For truckers to get a CDL they have to be able to read English signs.
And for a car/motorcycle drivers license you have to as well.

I would imagine in this day of age, most Truckers have GPS maps in the cab, like the rest of us human beings.

So they can set the language to whatever they please i suppose.

Which could be handy. 

Check on the signage through more text-based as opposed to universal symbols.

That's irrelevant.   That's not what we are talking about when I say 'read English'
The Truckers CDL requires that you can read road signs in English.
For hazards, and what to do while driving on the road, things like that.
