I've read more than a few books on food and eating....and what we eat...and how we are what we eat.
Seen more than a few DVDs on the topic as well.
These books and many, many studies about how eating lots of carbs will not only make you fat, but lead to diabetes, cancer and heart disease......all one had to do is look at certain indigenous peoples and how their health went to hell once flour and sugar were introduced.
I can remember when the US wasn't as fat as it is now.....and we were not crazed people trying to diet.
LOL....diets don't work. Exercise doesn't work. At least not long term.
I've tried more than a few. Tried Atkins around the time the good doctor fell and hit his head. That LoCarb "diet" worked...but it needs to become a way of eating for life....and who can commit to lifetime carb cutting. Fresh baked bread and pasta called!
What is needed is a whole new approach to what we put in our mouths.
Cut carbs.....sugar.....grains.....processed foods....bad fats.
Eat proteins, veggies, some fruits and healthy fats---including coconut oil.
Let's face it....as we age, it is easier to put on weight. And with that disease in 2020 I see more and more folks in need of correcting their food intake.
I've read several books around that talk about this...the most current one I've read [well, actually about 2/3 through] is Why We Get Fat
And now more than ever...BEWARE THE FOOD PYRAMID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm well eating to much can add weight, and sure if you fast you can lost weight from that, but doesn't most weigh loss happen from breathing? O2 into CO2. Transpiration. That's why exercise helps.
See, the Illuminati have everyone convinced that it's what you put in your face that matters, when really fatness is a result of improper breathing. That way they can sell you weight-loss plans that only work temporarily and pills for life haha. There's probably something in American air. That's it. Chemtrails make you fat. I'm finally connecting the dots.

Im convinced after fasting and losing weight like Ive never been able to before, most humans were not meant to eat 3 square meals a day, myself included Our addiction to carbs and sugar without the needed daily exercise to burn it off has led to an obesity and health crisis epidemic
Im 60 and know better but I'll still binge-eat wings beer fries, full well knowing I'll crash later.

Maybe it's something as simple as the addition of the Speed and capacity of Thought which could hold the key to understanding things like Metabolism, body weight problems and sluggish digestive functions.
We live so much in relation to daily time, but people have different speeds of thought which would normally vary depending on certain things so the amount of processes that can happen in any given amount of time could have an effect on how the body functions and reacts to this. A bit like computers can have different speeds for their Processors and RAM, but slow speeds can cause a sluggish computer full of unwanted junk and unresponsive systems.
Maybe an active mind affords the ability to process more imput of ALL sorts, not just mental, so diet is dealt with more efficiently by those who naturally have a higher frequency in their thinking with the subconscious bodily functions also being affected.
Combine this possibility with all the other elements like excersise, diet, age, general health etc and perhaps there's a pattern somewhere.
I suppose I am fortunate in that I can eat like a horse but remain super lean. I would have to be force fed and strapped down to get a permenant belly.

Ditto, I'm 60(teen) too, but I binge on Spaghetti Bolognaise, Bacon Sandwiches and Tea.

The diet you described is KETO. I lost 35 pounds within 2 months. I eat all sorts of fats. Especially bacon. I also eat lots of cheese. You feel great! Tons of energy. Wonderful lifestyle.

For me salads, fish, lean chicken beef, and eggs. I was doing fine till the holidays then use football as an excuse to eat like crap on the weekends.
For me optimally I need to fast 36-48 hours a week and just one meal a day in a 4-hour window. Ive done it 5 weeks straight and by the 2nd week, it's not bad at all.
I need to do it to lose weight but sans gallbladder, it also gives my digestive tract a break.

In my case, eating more times and less each time worked, I lost 30 Kg in six months.
I also started walking at least 1 Km per day.
Of those 30 Kg I lost I "found" almost 20, so I should go back to eat slightly less, but this time I am not able to find the will to do it.

I found KETO a bit too restrictive for my brain...and did a modified LC version.
The weight still crept up...never to what it was, and it took longer.
But what I really came here to say is BACON!!!
YES!
